We came here for a wedding. It was honestly the worst food I have ever tasted in my life. It was bland and COLD. The dessert that was served afterwards was also disgusting. Avoid this place.

Makiti is such a beautiful venue to get married at but the huge disappointment is the food. To charge over R360pp then serve that should be a criminal offense its seriously not worth it, it ruined the whole expirience. Firstly the starter butternut with dried...feta and sweet and sour dressing, its terrible. The main you stand in the que with your plates like you are in prison and someone dishes the smallest portion of meat, beef stew is disgusting jelly like dark brown looking thing with no single veggies not even onion its horrible, the smallest pieces of chicken is soo dry inside like its been cooked more than once its just tasteless they have mashed potatoes with broccoli that looks like vomit never even tasted it. In a nut shell that plate is not even worth R100pp, if you dont mind horrible food go to makitiMore

We went to a wedding, the bridal suite was super dirty and way below average. Towels felt like they'd been used a million times and they accused us of stealing them! The venue is gorgeous in terms of spots for great pics, but their service...is shocking! The communication skills felt like we were at a braai not a wedding. The food was terribly average like melting ice cream and cold starters that were honestly like the most average of places. They charged for toasted sandwhiches for the kids as they wouldnt eat curry and the sandwhich was R50 each which came cold and in plastic... They were difficult about service requests. They also stole all our wedding aids in the bathrooms for the guests. Their staff didnt keep their masks covered nor serve with gloves for the buffet. The breakfast buffet was good but asking for water was a challenge. The restuarant had a whole play area which is amazing but considering it was in level 3 should not have been open? Then the rooms we stayed in were disgusting, the switches tripped when we were in the shower, the towels were dodge, there were holes in the linen and mould on the roof of the bathroom. Honestly very disappointing and I would take a very hard look at things before considering havign a function let alone a weddig at this venue.More

Makiti Wedding Venue – when you see this name run in the other direction. If you are planning a wedding go to Hello Peter and other review sites FIRST, they are so many better places out there. We have had the misfortune of booking accommodation...at this venue for a family wedding, the wedding was postponed due to the lockdown etc. We were recently informed the wedding will now take place at the very end of December which is not great as we have booked a family holiday at the coast during this time. My daughter-in-law and I both tried to cancel our bookings and have been informed that they will not refund our money. We must take a voucher to use at another time for accommodation or at the restaurant. After having read the VERY MANY bad reviews about the shocking state of the accommodation and the horrible food at the restaurant we do not want vouchers we want our money back. We are going to fight this matter with Consumer Complaints as they are now refusing to speak to my daughter-in-law. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED THESE PEOPLE ARE DISHONEST AND DO NOT RUN AN ETHICAL BUSINESS!More

We were at a friends wedding in February and the state of the wedding facilities was horrible. Chipped and cracked tiles on the way to the bathrooms (some of them a major tripping hazard). About an hour into the reception the wastebasket in the bathroom...was overflowing and no one attended to it for the rest of the night so it just kept getting worse. The accommodation was really bad as well. Our room had 2 single beds and when moved together there was dust and spiderwebs that hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was also a loose wire somewhere so you would get shocked whenever you try to move the shower-head. When reporting this this manager’s only response was “well, at least you can say your stay here was shocking” no apology, nothing. The towels in our room was dirty and stained. We arranged for an earlier check in, but when we arrived (later than arranged even) they were completely unprepared. There is also very minimal signage to show where to check in. The restaurant’s service is also very slow (despite us being the only people there)More

With friendly smiles and a good quality breakfast, this is a lovely, informal spot to visit The menu includes waffles as well as other options. I had the omelet - a good option for breakfast

We would like to give thanks to Makiti Wedding Venue for making our wedding special for us and our family from the time of booking, the reminders from the Makiti team, the planning, and all the way to the best day of our lives on...the 12th October 2019. We booked the Ballroom venue and we kept on coming to the Makiti restaurant throughout the year just as an excuse to see our booked venue. On the day, we started feeling special the moment the cars drove into the vicinity of the venue when seeing a sign board with our names. The attention of the wedding coordinator on the day made us feel like a very young couple, very beautiful and even our children and grandchildren were astonished by the beauty around us,from the bridal suite, the chapel, to the reception venue. There was ample food, good music and the venue was spectacular. The suppliers that were recommended by Makiti were fantastic and there was not a single let down. Our guests are still raving about the day even now in December 2019 and have gone as far as creating a WhatsApp group to share pictures on their experiences on the day. To the Makiti Team, thanks again! Siyabonga kakhulu! We will continue recommending the venue and taking advantage of the restaurant just so we can reminisce about our special day. - Zanele and PetrosMore

Had exactly one month to plan my wedding and everything went so smoothly that you'd have thought I had a whole year to plan. Everything was perfect and exactly how I wanted - even beyond our expectations. The arrangements were flawless, food was superb and...the staff was a delight. Totally affordable and with genuine value for money. I highly reccomend this stunning venue.More
