A real gem

We overnighted at the Waterfront Inn and for dinner were directed to the restaurant under the same roof. Previously known as Roosters it has now rebranded as 28 On The Lake. In short, we enjoyed our dinner here immensely. This evening the steak feature was a rib eye, cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly. My wife ordered the pan fried pickerel, nicely prepared and served as ordered. What makes this place stand above others is the wait staff. We were served by Emily and Brayden who both provided fun, attentive, and pleasant service. They made us feel that they genuinely cared and wanted to make our stay memorable and pleasant. Well done - thank you.

Food was good but not the hostess.

Food was good, bar selection of beer & wine was quite good and the wait staff was attentive. The young ladies at the hostess station were not trained properly and as a result tables sat empty for hours while they turned customers away. We (my wife and I) sat in the bar at the window and watched 2 tables sit empty for over 2 hours.

Its called 28 on the Lake & it’s excellent! Their renovated patio is fabulous. The food is super tasty & I have tried many different items on various occasions. The view is awesome now that they don’t have that ridiculous wooden wall blocking the lake. Chairs are comfy, view gorgeous & staff are friendly & attentive. All that & excellent food too. One our our favourite spots now!

Was pretty cute service with having certain amount of people allowing to serve you for what they look like what their body shape is like, etc. drunken shrimp has been changed and taste differently. Whoever cooked it. I know that the name has been changed because of health reasons. I know that this time is been because of change in management, but because in the past. Since the name has to been changed every six months for health reasons, mice having rats having unsafe work in the kitchen and now when it says fresh vegetables being served means frozen vegetables, which is not fresh having anything on this menu that says fresh is not real is ridiculous. I can make something better at my own house that is fresh without frozen potatoes without frozen meat without frozen vegetables, frozen etc. etc. etc. trying to cut corners to make it look fresh and it's false. Love the restaurant when it was back in the day.. Ali's up the road is way better fresh vegetables, fresh food, nothing frozen deal with the local butcher, etc. nothing to do with cutting corners and making it fake. Call this play sometimes a fake restaurant because it's almost as like going to wild wings, fake Hamburg fake meat. Everything is frozen and paying over $20. But on the menu said it's fresh.

Perfect meal and service.

We went for dinner for our anniversary and were not disappointed. This is one of the best meals we have had. The prime rib did not need a knife and melted in my mouth. My wife's steak was done to perfection. The side dishes were also perfect. The service was 5 star as well. We have been there for lunches previously and have always been impressed but this was over the top. I would recommend this restaurant to all.

Very pleasant dinner on the water

My wife and I had a very nice dinner here on the patio overlooking the water. We had different shrimp dishes which were excellent and the service was great. The cocktails were weak but the prices are so reasonable that we seized not to bother. We liked the place so much we are going back at the end of our stay.

Great place to dine!

One of two great restaurants in our area. Prime rib is a specialty I normally order...it is just so good. The service is normally superb and the staff, friendly. In summer, the restaurant offers a lovely outdoor dining area overlooking the lake.

The restaurant is now called 28 on The Lake... the service was just great..the menu is excellent and the food was amazing..large portions!! Great coxtail so as well..and on the lake..so gteat views..we sat on outdoor patio one night and inside the other one..both were great,will return for sure

Visited this past weekend with my daughter for an early dinner. Was pleasantly surprised, there was live music which definitely set the atmosphere as a friendly jovial place. Our server Alexa was friendly and attentive. Food was very good. Will definitely dine here again next time we are in town.

Terrific Food, Awesome View

Am I staying in New Liskheard for a couple of days doing some solo motorcycle touring. Had supper at this restaurant tonight. The view is amazing. The food and drinks were very good. The staff were all very friendly. One waitress in particular made me a terrific Irish coffee. She was very friendly and easily the prettiest lady working at the restaurant. Thank you for a great experience.

Stood there at entrance for 10 minutes still wasn’t seated so felt like there was enough staff or they didn’t want me and a co worker to eat there so went out for fast food at least there I get to have my food and not have to wait to be seated

Great atmosphere. awesome staff. great views. very relaxed and friendly. However, for a restaurant on a lake, to serve a beer battered fish filet house speciality to me reheated from frozen....... ugh. Unforgivable.

all-you-can-eat fish night

Tripadvisor needs to update the name. This year it changed from Rooster's to 28 on the lake. Our friends invited my family for the all-you-can-eat fish night. We thought is was all-you-can-eat fish & chips but they didn't bring more chips. I was glad I could order Dr. Pepper to drink...and get a free refill. The restaurant was busy. If you are in a rush, go to McDonald's. If you have time to wait, I think you'll enjoy the food.

We enjoy meals here just as a couple and as a family. Steve that worked at a previous restaurant in town we frequented is there for service, quality and excellent food.
