Three out of four of our meals arrived cold. My baked potato was ice cold, as in just taken out the fridge cold, and was hard, as in uncooked hard. Seriously, when a restaurant cannot bake a potato, then I guess that the bar has...been set. The Spring Lemon and Herb Chicken was dry and actually quite bland. The Espetada de Picanha arrived ice cold as did the Duck Confit. The duck was reheated, but as most people would know, reheated food is quite as good as freshly prepared. The service was not good at all and we had to wait long for our food, which as you read above was cold when it arrived. The service complaint was poorly dealt with and I for one am unlikely to go back. Our anniversary dinner and that of the friends who we went with was ruined. Money poorly spent, but a lesson well learned.More

Two of us popped in at 12h30 for a light lunch. We ordered a pizza. The restaurant was fairly empty. 45 minutes later we had to call the waitress away from chatting to her colleague to ask where our pizza was. She called her manager...who said their head chef was in and was running through the specials for tomorrow night with the kitchen staff! Clearly paying customers had to wait. I say no more. We left without receiving our pizzaMore

We have been frequently going to this restaurant over the past couple of years. The food and service is always great. Definitely a great place for a quiet dinner or with those special family members. Prices are reasonable when you compare to portion size and...definitely value for money.More

Returned just over two years after an unhappy experience at this restaurant. This time the food was very good (oysters, kabeljou and fillet) and service 6* (waiter's name was Polite). Still quite a noisy venue but not unduly so. Restaurant seems very popular. We'll come back...again.More

A fantastic, Bistro-style restaurant, serving food of outstanding quality - with a strong focus on service excellence. In all honesty, I don't know why we had never tried this eatery before, since we live nearby. It's an absolute diamond. Firstly, the focus on service is...commendable. Both lady and male managers are hands-on and work tirelessly to ensure that customers are happy. The waitrons smile and genuinely want to please. It's so welcoming to watch this. The Bistro-inspired ambience is good too and the vibe a positive one. For starters, I had the crispy duck spring rolls served with a delectable Thai dipping sauce. The dish was beautifully plated, and the sauce was a wonderful accompaniment to the duck - sweet, peanutty, spicy, but not at all overbearing. My partner had the beef-haloumi skewers which were substantial and beautifully cooked, accompanied by a tzatziki that the Greek gods would have smiled upon. One wonders how they managed to make tzatziki taste this good. When I managed to steal a taste, I was convinced they must have used mascarpone or clotted cream, and could have sat there like Goldilocks, delightfully eating baby bear's portion with just a spoon! For mains, I choose the Wrapped Beef Fillet, accompanied by a variety of roasted veggies. The 250g fillet (medium-rare of course) was beautifully presented - enrobed in crispy bacon, creamed mushrooms, a generous amount of nutty Gruyère and a light, perfectly crisp phyllo pastry. Incredibly rich and buttery with an array of wonderful textures - just what a fillet needs. To say I was impressed is an understatement. My partner opted for the Chicken Parmigiana which was absolutely decadent, and rather substantial. Being a fussy Swiss-German, he raved about this dish, remarking that it was one of the best he had been served in many, many years - quite a strong statement considering he travels and eats all over the world. I was lucky to steal a taste and can attest to his proclamation. While we had both already reached lofty levels of satiety after starters and mains, we nevertheless decided to try their desserts, together with cappuccinos. The cappuccinos were perfect I might add and, being a trained baritsa, I can be rather critical - but these really hit the mark. Well done guys. Now for the desserts. I chose the New York-style baked cheesecake of course, kissed with a light, mixed berry coulis which I am happy to proclaim did not overpower the creamy goodness. I have reviewed many a cheesecake before, and am known as a cheesecake snob, but I can honestly say that this one was pure perfection. Simple, velvety and utterly delectable - just as a New York-style cheesecake should be. I immediately checked for a crumbly texture, which usually puts me off, but there were no crumbs in sight. This cake was scrumptiously perfect. Ten out of ten for sure. My partner chose the carrot cake which can certainly be described as a memorable one. Certainly not your run-of-the mill carrot cake. Perfect texture, perfect spice and perfect cream cheese topping. Overall, the experience was a rather memorable one. The menu caters for every palate. We even bore witness to gargantuan gourmet burgers and pizzas coming out of that kitchen and, judging by the garlic focaccia tasters we were served just before starters arrived, they certainly know what they're doing in that wood-fired oven of theirs! You must pay Mon Petit Throbb a visit. Amongst many a disappointment in the Fourways area, this eatery is an absolute highlight. I would without a doubt include it in Joburg's list of top eateries. You will certainly not be disappointed.More

Love this restaurant. It's not situated where there's hussle and buzz. The food is amazing, affordable wine list. Nice place to have an afternoon sundowner or quiete early evening dinner.
