Sometimes it's nice to go back to basics...just a large and succulent piece of seafood, perfectly cooked, some papas with well-made mojos, a view on the foaming sea, a nice local wine, and it can be bliss. Our main was a huge jurel denton (white...trevally, similar to what we Italians call a "dentice" mediterraneo, but larger and a perhaps a little milder tasting), whose firm and very firm flesh we shared. The amount could have served three or four, especially if you are used to Uk portions... It came after starters of a wonderful, tender and moist, piece of octopus, and fried moray eel, not the easiest fish to clean, but hey, if they do it...you can just enjoy the finely cut crispy and fat slivers, which are effectively "sea chips". To conclude, the usual Bienmesabe with icecream, this one too delightful in its simplicity. Service here can be sometimes quite slow, sometimes too fast, but these guys work hard as hell under enormous pressure, and they are always courteous and possibly even charming, especially "the boss". The amount of stuff we have would have cost more than twice as much what we paid in some places in the UK, but also in Spain. Because of its good value, accompanied by top quality, Casa Rafa was the fullest of the restaurants we saw in pretty El Golfo, with queues forming outside.More

Fabulous location, lovely staff, reassuring about fish bones and fish head etc. Red prawns, served on salt, was the most delightful starter, never had prawns that tasted like that! Keith had barracuda which which melted in his mouth, it looked fabulous. Shared starter, 2 mains,...glass of wine and two deserts - €65. The deserts were homemade ice cream and were memorable - Chili chocolate and Nutella and I had fresh strawberries and vanilla. Do not miss this gem !! Xx We watched the sun go down …..More

Friends of ours highly recommended this restaurant. We had to go out of our way to get to it, but it was well worth it. We had already booked a table which was a good idea as the place was nearly full when we arrived....The choice of seafood was superb and delicious to eat. We highly recommend a visit.More

One of the best lunch we had in Lanzarote since we arrived. Casa Rafa is always a guarantee. We’ve been here the first time in 2019 and to be honest food quality remains excellent as the service. We had 3 starters (Lapas, Navajas and pimiento...tipo padrón ) and two mains (pescando del dia and grilled squid) impossible to complain, everything was fresh and full of taste. If we’ll back again in Lanzarote , Casa Rafa will be the first choice for sure Food worth the priceMore

We were on a ships excursion visiting the volcanos in the area and were taken to Casa Rafa for a group lunch. We had a set menu of different types of seafood, local potato's, vegetables and a wonder desert of cheese cake and orange sobet....I would like to go back and try some of their other seafood dish's. Great atmosphere and service.More

We’ve been waiting a long time to be able to return to this restaurant. It is excellent in every way. Rafa and his wife are fantastic hosts who provide the very best quality food. The fresh fish is the best we’ve had and is perfectly...presented. The special tuna starter is superb. Stunning views. Thank you once again for a very pleasant lunch.More

Truly excellent seafood at Casa Rafa. Everything was high quality and prepared impeccably: a tuna tataki with caramelised onion on top and black sesame was the most "fancy" dish and was superb, but so were the very straight lapas (i.e. limpets, a popular shellfish here...in Lanzarote) and the barracuda for two, coming with papas and salad. Sweet conclusion with the irresistible Bienmesabe. Add to the good food the airy terrace in the tiny seaside village of El Golfo, the very sweet service and the very reasonable prices, and you have a perfect seafood meal.More
