I went to this restaurant following a friend's suggestion and I couldn't be more satisfied of it: waiters were splendid, the food was even bettet and the coo himself came to us, after eating, to ask if we enjoined the dinner. Even the prices were...fair.More

Staying in Madonna di Campiglio, we drove 30 minutes to this destination restaurant and it was our best meal in the area. Absolutely amazing locavore place run by a Chef without formal training (he's a ski instructor in the day time) but with great passion....Our group of 5 ordered all 4 appetisers and all 4 pastas, two mains, a vegetable side and three desserts, and the meal with several bottles of wine came to about €30 per person. Amazing value at twice the price. The menu probably changes depending on what's available but standouts were a very tender beef tongue, spaghetti with a cream sauce I am still dreaming of, risotto, lake fish and duck breast. Amazing bread basket! The deer tartare was interesting but not as memorable. The vegetable side was very unusual, with wild spinach and sweet carrots. If in the area this is a must go if you want a special experience (just make sure you have GPS because it is remote).More

We found this place luckily! When we arrived at the 19:30 the boss open us the door and after few minutes a elderly waiter introduced us at the menu. They have different solution for brunch and a lot of typical plates For dinner. We ate...4 different kind of plate: cervo (deer), ravioli, tagliolini, anatra (duck). The red wine , Teroldego, was so nice. Probably we'll go as soon as possible thank a lot at the chef and at the elderly DavideMore

We were staying in Mezzana (few kilometers away) and we got a tip from out hotel about this place. And we were grateful of that tip and also that they made a reservation behalf of us (it was needed). The place is very small (about...30 seats), it's cozy, but classy. They had one waiter speaking good English and he as well as other waiters were very polite in a nice way. He explained every choice and exceptions they had. Menu was in English. We order 2-3 courses per person and because we had 2 small children with us they made some own dishes for them. We knew that place was so-called "better restaurant" but we didn't expect amuse bouche. They offers tiny deer burgers and the taste was just great. So were all our dishes; tartar, pork belly, risotto, salmon and deer file. We were so full after all these that didn't had any change to have dessert :(More

We came to alla Vecchia Macina for lunch during a vacation in Val di Sole in which we tried several restaurants. This was definitely one of the best we found, in terms of food quality, price-value, environment and service. The place is rather small hence...booking is mandatory. We got two menu degustazione which included an gorgeous antipasto and two courses: a bis of pastas, and a combination of meat and fish. The meal was enriched by a small appetiser offered by the house, different sorts of delicious home-made bread and a sorbetto between the second and third course. I would not recommend this place to families with small children because of the little space.More

We were staying in the nearby town of Pellizzano and were recommended this by our hotelier. We were out of season so just drove up to the restaurant on a Saturday night just on the off chance we could get in. We arrived in the...dark having spent 15 minutes in the car searching for the restaurant which is difficult to find. We knocked on the door ro find what resembled someones front living room, converted into a small dining room. Maybe 8 tables and 20 cover or so. Tiny. But we were lucky and only one elderly couple were in eating and we were welcomed in by the owner. No english spoken and no english menu so we linguistically dissected the menu and much to the trepidation of our 12 year old daughter waited to see what arrived. We were served an appetiser to start of soup, then our chosen starters. Sorbet to follow then our mains. We chose various dishes mainly because we struggled to know exactly what was coming. It was absolutely fabulous amazing. The chef was effectively just cooking for us as the older Italian couple had finished eating, and he really pulled out the stops. This is Michelin star cooking, just superb and unexpected. Despite the initial disappointment of our daughter (no tomato pasta!!) she loved it, a bit of this, a bit of that. Antipasto was excellent, we had boar, venison, beef mains, the most unusual vegetables and lovely touches such as appetisers and sorbet courses that just arrived. Shared deserts (pretty full by then), bottle of excellent local red wine and under 100 Euros for 4 !!!!!!!! Quite amazing. Even if you do need to be Inspector Closeau to find it, especially in the dark, it's so so worth it. One of the best meals I have ever had, and the best during our stay in Italy this trip. Makes we want to go back and downgrade any 5* ratings in the past, or if possible give this 6*. Top recommendation. In the summer I would book 100%More
