Chefs amuse bouche was amazing Bread course amazing Sashimi was best looking dish, but lacked any taste, carpaccio is better option Fish was ok Lamb, best dish by far Cheese plate was good Desert amazing Tiramisu!!! French and German couple thanked me for asking UK...rowdy group to respect other guests as obviously the restaurant does not want to upset guests. I asked the restaurant to ask them to be less of a loud nuisance, but yip, they pay so they do as they wish. Amazing atmosphere when they left No brown sugar - really?! Was great experience but wine is super expensive. Wine pairing is good optionMore

One of the best meals I've ever had. By food alone, it was amazing, each course was delicious. The springbok tartare was one of the best things ive ever tasted. The view at sunset makes this a perfect location. I was blown away by how...good it was. Been to a lot of the best places in Cape Town, this was the best.More

This is an amazing restaurant, with great service and fine food. Start of our dinner was a bit slow (no food or drinks on the table for a long time) - but it got better and better. We didnt sit near the windows, but that...didn't bother us.More

My husband and I went for the lunch tasting menu and tried everything on the menu - spectacular flavors and complexity, beautiful plating, and an EXCEPTIONAL sommelier (Victor Okolo) with such incredible pairings that really made both the wine and food stand out. The service...at times was slow or disorganized, but we did not mind as they were kind and attentive. Definitely recommend for an upscale experience.More

This is food as art. Have never had more delicious, more beautifully prepared and curated dishes in such a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere! The service was over the top, the chef visited and sent out "chef's gifts" to taste. The roundhouse itself is a fascinating...piece of history with a lovely view of the ocean. A truly memorable experience!More

The waiter at our table rushed through the intro to the menu and then made judgemental comments on choices of food and when he thought it appropriate to fetch drinks

Salsify was the top Cape Town restaurant recommended by our travel agency, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is perched on a bluff in a historic building overlooking Camps Bay. We had a table by the window and enjoyed a stunning sunset over the...water as we dined. The tasting menu was almost as spectacular as the sunset. It was creative, detailed and well prepared, offering a variety of the region’s cuisines. We opted for the basic wine pairing which was just perfect for us. The sommelier took just a much time with our wines as the table next to us that chose the premium pairings. The service was excellent. It was nice to have different staff present the different courses. This was by far one of the best tasting menus we’ve had and plan to return if we ever get back to Cape Town.More

We booked lunch one week ago for 3 . Having eaten at all the top restaurants in Cape Town and looking at the reviews , we were very excited to enjoy the experience . We had agreed to only judge the experience after we had...finished. We took two chefs menu with wine pairing and one pescatarian without wine pairing. All the dishes were average and the Charred Scallops were raw , this was brought to the Sommelier ‘s attention as he cleared the plate away and he confirmed he would advise the kitchen . There was no feedback from the kitchen on this dish . As far as the wine paring it was just average as we were just told the basic information …. Service was also not great considering the establishment and the prices of the menus charged. Conclusion … this restaurant is overrated and overpriced as there many other better options in Cape Town areaMore

This place is a gem for those who not only want to experience incredible food but also have a deep appreciation for the small details. My husband and I booked a table for sunset, hoping to see a sunset view from the dining room. It...unfortunately turned out to be a cloudy day on the day; however, the views were still spectacular. We had the tasting menu which was available on the day. Every single course was immaculately presented and the flavour and texture combinations were simply mind-blowing! Of note was that my husband and I do not usually eat lamb at all- but at Salsify we *enjoyed* their lamb dish. We especially loved that we got to take the printed set menu with us home, together with the order chit the kitchen staff used to prepare our meal on the day- a small but sweet addition, and very much appreciated by us :) We visited numerous fine dining establishments around Cape Town during our stay, but Salsify was *by far* the best dining experience we had- from start to finish. A must visit!More

My wife and I visited Salsify on the first night of her 30th birthday trip to South Africa. The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful. informative, and flexible. This was particularly the case as my wife has a shellfish allergy; the staff did not hesitate to...inform the kitchen and have any potential dishes containing allergens substituted for something equally as delicious. The food and wine were sublime and we would most definitely come back the next time we are in Cape Town.More

Quite disappointing. Service did not really listen to requirements. We got a super cold place next to the toilet exit. Definitely can’t recommend this corner during winter. All in all a big part of the stuff was not passionate and made no good impression. Some...nice moments with the sommelier and key servers. Food was good but did not work out always as supposed to be. Eg the main course was quite dry - du breast appeared pre-cooked. For myself was only one highlight - the langoustine. All in all I have to say it was not what it was in the past - last visit was in summer. Hopefully just a bad day.More

Lovely set menu with options for people with food allergies. Food was nicely presented. I especially liked the langoustine course and both desserts were fab. We left there very full! We tried the wine pairings and all were good - we particularly loved one of...the unusual glasses with the white wine.More

We had a lovely evening at Salsify. The food was spectacular and the sevice was outstanding. The sommelier was excellent and spent a lot of time talking with us about the wines served with each of our courses. To make it fun and interesting we...each chose a different wine flight, I had the Gem Series and my husband has the Boutique Wines. It was fun to taste each others wines with each course. Each course was amazing! The staff was warm and friendly and at the end of the evening they presented us with a dated copy o the menu with a thank you note for dining with them. Such a lovely touch and a perfect way to end a memorable evening.More
