Absolutely fantastic food. Great friendly service, great selection of different traditional foods. Highly recommend it. If tou want a taste of Zimbabwe, look no further.
The owner is a wonderful person, wants you to be very happy with the food, which is excellent. This is a Zimbabwe's small little restaurent.
A short walk from our hotel in Woodstock was this lovely restaurant serving some African food that we had never come across before. It was all lovely - we had the chicken stew with pap, and the fried tilapia with peanut butter rice (mashakada). Extremely...tasty, can’t recommend highly enough. The staff were helpful in explaining the dishes we hadn’t come across before, and they sell their home-made hot sauce by the bottle, which will make for a great present for family back home!More
We drove all the way from Waterfront to have dinner at Pahari. We were not dissapointed at all. The food was just typical Zimbabwe traditional dishes without any twists. The food is organic and healthy. Their portions are big enough for 2 people. Unfortunately, we...didnt have enough time for a sit in and had to do take away. We will visit again on our next trip to Cape Town.More
Never had an opportunity to try Zimbabwe cuisine in my life and I was really glad to find this lovely restaurant. It was a little hard to find as it's on a corner of an inner street but when we got there we were pleasantly...surprised. Our waiter/host that day was super patient and explained to us the kinds of dishes available, and was very kind and prompt with service. I could still remember the worried look on his face as he was wondering if we Asian tourists would enjoy the food but we definitely assured him that it was amazing! I think we had a really good beef stew with pap and plenty of peanut butter inspired veggie and seafood dishes, and didn't cost us very much as well. I'd even say this was one of the best small restaurants I've ever been to, if not the best. Was so glad to have found this place, if you're in Cape Town and want to try something new this is one of the places I will recommend.More
Home cooking African style. Loved it. The owner sat with us and we had a nice chat. Great evening. Recommendable.
We really enjoyed our evening with friends at Pahari...perhaps because we seek out the lesser known restaurants in Cape Town. It's not fancy and is really affordable. The (genuinely Zimbabwean) food was delicious and honest; the only dish we found a little challenging (some might...say inedible!), was the beef trotters. We loved everything else, and the amazing chilli sauce. Service was excellent and the host Caleb was super friendly and informative. We took our own wine as it is not licensed.More
I was looking for African food during my holiday to South Africa and found this place. We are so glad we went and will definitely come back! The owner and his staff explained everything to us on the menu, even showing us the types of...grains in each dish. The food was absolutely amazing. We would recommend it to anyone visiting or living in Cape Town! The prices were great too!More
Excellent service, short waiting time. And the food is mouth-watering, enough and filling. Will come every chance I get.
