The bouncer on the door was absolutely vile. On arrival we had a table booked for 8pm, there were a group in front of us who did not have a booking and we were made to wait until 8:15 whilst they argued with the group...in front of us regarding a table, whilst they were fully aware we had a table booked for 8pm. At the end of the night (9:40) we were made to leave, completely understandable as the curfew is 10pm. It was raining and I was waiting for my friends to come outside which I explained to the bouncer, he then called me ignorant as I wouldn’t get my own way. However my friends were around 2 seconds behind me. The bouncer continued to call me names and said I am now welcome back due to waiting for my friends to leave the bar so that we could wait for a cab ( baring in mind this is not 10pm yet)! Do not expect any politeness from this vile disgusting doorman he tries to belittle women and make them look stupid standing in the rain !!More

We had the best time at lizard lounge for my husbands surprise birthday celebration. We came a little late because of our dinner booking but the assured me that the table would still be there. The music was popping loads of old skool hip hop,...Rnb jams! Thank you sooo much Brian for the free shot amazing service!More

I’ve been to Lizard Lounge with my girlfriend a few times now, as well as with mates and friends. I love everything about this place! Mostly we go on slightly less busy nights, but it’s always great fun. The food is WAY better than you’d...expect, it’s a bit of a revelation really. Their cocktails are also awesome: they’ve got a huge list which is 2 for £12 every day until 10pm, and they really deliver! The music is awesome, and the service is great too. Everything comes with a smile and in good tome! Pub quiz on Sundays is good fun and nice and chilled too. I’d give this place 6*s if I could!More

We hired the back bar for my 21st birthday celebrations. The staff were attentive and lovely, and the cocktails were amazing! We had 4 platters of food, all of which was delicious and perfect for the occasion. They adhered to our every need, adjusting the...air conditioning and lighting as appropriate, along with playing our Spotify playlists. It was an absolutely brilliant day and night - we’ll definitely all be returning! Thank you for your services.More

We went to Lizard lounge on a Saturday night with friends. Arrived just after 11pm where it was reasonably busy. The bar was quite small with two members of staff but the wait to be served was not as long as I thought it would...be. We missed happy hour so drink prices were typical of other bars. The music was a mixture of old skool rnb, house and commercial. It got busy around midnight and became a little hard to move. It closes at 2am which I think is slightly early when on the dance floor but it was a decent night out.More

Last night me and my partner visited this establishment to try and explore some of the local culinary destinations... only to find disappointment; and no lizards. Here’s the problem, you walk in and are greeted by lovely and friendly staff, so far so good right?...Yeah we thought so too. After being seated we realised that this ‘restaurant’ resembled more of a shisha bar than anything else. With loud grime music playing (just what you want to hear as you’re sitting down to enjoy a meal...sure) and a large TV screen that plays music videos; music videos that are different to the actual music playing, it was a bit all over the place. Oh and no lizards, just signs saying E18. Confused? Yeah tell me about it. Let’s talk about drinks. Cocktails were lovely; but being a cocktail bartender myself, getting a drink that isn’t filled to the brim is quite frustrating. I’m not paying for air. Other than that the taste of each cocktail we had was lovely. Just ignore the random tea bag garnish, used to counterbalance fruit on a stick and you’re fine. Now let’s talk about the food. I’d rather not. I order the Shrimp Po Boy; for those of you unaware, this should be a heavily sauced baguette filled with fried shrimp and salad etc. Yeah, okay, sure thing. Out comes my dish, a dry baguette (I’m not exaggerating, there was literally nothing on it... not even butter!) with some lettuce, a couple of fried shrimp and drizzled with some spicy mayo. Below average doesn’t even cut it to be honest with you. Now onto my partners dish, they got the chicken and waffles; an American staple. Yeah, not at the lizard lounge folks! A basic waffle, some maple syrup on the side, and get this... UNSEASONED fried chicken that was drier than the Sahara desert. My partner could not even finish the meal because it was so tasteless and dry. Come on guys, at least use some salt and pepper. It was actually a joke. Now for the sides, we got mac ‘n’ cheese balls and a corn dog. You ready for this folks? The mac ‘n’ cheese balls were dry... how do you dry out freshly melted cheese? You leave it on the side for ages or maybe you don’t cook it fresh, neither of these would surprise me at this point. But what was worse was the marinara sauce they were served with. A generic tomato paste with fajita seasoning. FAJITA SEASONING. Like the one you get in a packet in Tesco. You know the ones you make when you’re feeling lazy and want to spice up your life with some Mexican food? Yeah the same seasoning was in this sauce, you cannot make this up. It literally tasted the same. As for the corn dog, well there was so much mustard and ketchup on it that I couldn’t taste the soggy batter. But I’ve got eyes, and I saw how soggy it was. You call yourself an American restaurant, yet everything you serve is literally a mockery of traditional American meals. It’s a joke. I was very disappointed. Oh and when the bill came, they tried to charge me for a tequila shot that I hadn’t ordered. However, the manager did speak to me and apologised explaining that they had done that due to some discount being placed onto the bill. Still wasn’t explained prior to that point thought so I guess they just wanted me to pay without questioning that? Anyway, that’s enough from me. Just one more thing... WHERE ARE THE LIZARDS?! There are none featured in the decor. There are no lizard themed drinks. No foods cleverly named after lizards. Not even a ‘classic lizard lounge burger’. Don’t try to call yourself an American restaurant. Call yourself a run down shisha bar that serves over priced food and half empty cocktails. Never coming here again. Not until they put some lizards in this place. #makelizardloungegreatagainMore
