We got a local to show us where this restaurant is. There is NO signage! The gate is closed but a watchman will run to open it so stand at the gate to be seen. The owner is a lovely warm person. It is easy to...get to, quite near downtown. The menu is varied. I tried the Greek salad and it was huge and I couldn't finish it. Plan to share it and call it a meal. The next time I tried the Stir Fried Chicken which also couldn't be finished due to size. So even though it is more expensive you can easily share a dish and it will be enough for two unless you eat large amounts of food. The movie on Friday starts at 7:00 or 7:30. We arrived at 8:15 not knowing what time it started so we missed out.The food is good. They make their own bread. Yum!More
The Greek Club is a bit pricey compared to nearby restaurants, but it's nice to have something different while traveling (especially fresh veggies). Friendly staff; there are also fantastic yoga classes held here three times a week. Classes can be viewed at iringayoga.com. To get...there, pass the seventh day adventist church, take the first dirt road past the church on your right, and walk about a block; the club is through a gate on the left, next to another church. There's no sign, but it's a one-story white building.More
This is a gem in Iringa where one can get a sniff of the history of the town: nice garden and veranda, beautiful hall, well decorated and lots of original elements in the building.
The food is delicious: the salad and quiche were very good....Staff is very service oriented and friendly.
Nice place and relaxing environment.More
Not the easiest place to find with no signage at all but worth seeking out. Popular with expats and with prices that locals wouldn't pay, 18,000-20,000tzs for a main course. If you're in Iringa over a weekend they show a film on a Friday night....(English language, new releases).More
Located in a large garden, as soon as you enter the Greek Club grounds, you forget about the hustle and bustle of town life. The peace and tranquility of the place lets your worries and stresses melt away.
The Greek inspired menu is some of...the best food you'll find in Iringa, and with a well stocked bar it's perfect for family and friends.
They show a movie every Friday night on a big screen which offers a nice evenings entertainment.
It's lovely to see the beautiful Greek inspired architecture nestled deep in the heart of Tanzania.
A very friendly place and well worth a visit.More
I had the greek salad and added chicken the first night - it was very large - really good value for the money. I thought it'd be a appetizer/side dish, so I'd ordered it with the pork chop.
But then the pork chop with mushroom...sauce came out...it was SO good! and tender and perfectly seasoned.
I came back the next day and had the chicken - also freakin amazing.
The host/cook is a wonderful lady who lives like an hour or two away from Iringa and comes in to run the place. I would definitely recommend any out of towners to stop by here to eat.
The only downside is that it IS pricey. But after stopping off in random places all week on drives to the rural areas, it was WELL worth it to me to splurge a bit.More
Went there twice . Greek food was nice and tasty . service was good and very welcoming. The location is also very quite and relaxing. Ideal if you are looking for a peaceful afternoon. Ms. Marieta the owner was also very welcoming. Thanks
