Because we were passing through Austria we made a reservation at this hotel.
The hotel is neat, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the food in the restaurant is very good!
The only thing is the temperature in the room; it looks like a sauna.
Maybe it's easy to adjust, but unfortunately we couldn't get it done.
The breakfast was very extensive and also the coffee was well taken care of.
We will definitely be back!

Traditional Bavarian restaurant, two large rooms with a lot of thinks to look at. The menu has a nice selection of regional dishes, everything we tried was delicious. Beer on tap was Tegernseebrau, which was excellent. One of the best toilettes I've seen in any restaurant, anywhere.

Very friendly, attentive waiter. That's a positive. Jedoch: Lamb end 29,40 €; Wiener Schnitzel 28,90 €; Spinach-ricotta-ravioli 19,90 €; Creme Brulee 10,50 €. Grünwald? Schwabing? No, Holzkirchen! Standard Bavarian menu. I thought the meals were average, nothing special. The roast was drowning in sauce. Staff friendly. Next time I will explore what else is in town.

A restaurant with history and with tradtional dressed staff and real German food.
Staff is very nice, we were there on a sunday and it was very crowdy. NIce ambiace and good beer. Dishes not expensive, qualtity modest. Good for a quick lunch.

We were driving from Italy to Berlin and traffic before Munich was heavy due to Oktoberfest. We chose this cosy and delicious place for dinner. It is really atmospheric and relaxing with great choices of German food.

You'll make friends and enjoy good food and beer while eating here. You'd be surprised at how many people speak English and are willing to help you if you can't decide on what to eat. Been there many times before. It's always been consistent and great tasting.

Of the two large restaurant spaces at the 'Alte Post' I prefer the first one after the entrance: One almost feels transported back to the 1950s. Local pensioners are meeting to play cards, the old lady owner sits in the back after she came and greeted everyone in the restaurant and wished a good time, the waiters and waitresses are eager and ready to serve the beer and the delicious offerings from the kitchen. The food is excellent, no matter what you order. Don't miss the home-made soups, the pork roasts with home made dumplings, and the Kas Spatzen with home-made roasted onions. A Bavarian delight. Service is fast, effective. The atmosphere is fantastic.

The restaurant is furnished in traditional bavarian Style, wood everywhere. The kitchen is perfect, the service also. There is large selection of traditional dishes and of course beer. My wife prefers fish, they also have a good choice.
But you will not find very big choice of international cuisine.
I eat there often, when traveling along the nearby highway A8.
The quests are mostly surrounding locals and it seems, they like very much to celebrate in this inn.

I had the chicken bavarian meal, can't remember what it was called, but it was really well cooked and presented. It was enjoyable.The decor of the hotel is very much dated with paintings on the wall and animals head mounted on the wall, not to everyone's taste, everything you would expect from an old establishment such as this with history.

We have been with good friends from Italy there for lunch time and this typical bavarian style restaurant located in a very nice old building surpassed our expecations. We had different superb meat plates coming with salads and these with delicious dressings. Well cooked, nicely presented in a great atmosphere inside, where the old wooden tables, chairs and banks surely couldan tell you many stories of this place. All of us got excellent food for a very reasonalble price and a very friendly service from the waitresses.
