Delicious brunch for the Happening Gourmand experience. Don't miss out on the mimosas, great suggestion by our waitress Paula.

Someone needs to give paula a raise. She was courteous, attentive, and so sweet and kind. I will absolutely be dining here again and requesting her as my waitress. She is really one in a million!
Hello, thank you for your review which we will be sure to share with our team and Paula in particular. We look forward to welcoming you back 😊
the ambience and venue was very nice. Service was good. The menu we thought seemed great and that's why we decided to visit. Well... the French onion soup was a food attempt but it was very sweet probably because of the maple syrup in it,...however that wasn't the worst of whatvwe had. The froie Gras was horrible. went back to menu to re read the description its homemade whatever that means. The Lamb shank did not taste good at all. we were very disappointed in the food which is a shame.More

Tourists beware, locals just don't go. I am really saddened by my last experience at this restaurant, a place I have been to many time over the past few years, even during Covid. We ordered a delicious meal and the food was wonderful. What was...not appreciated was the fact my glass of wine, pretty ordinary at that, was a whopping 50 bucks tax and tip included, more expensive than my meal, and this when i asked for a simple glass of Pinot Grigio and was told, "oh, you have two wine choices by the glass to have something like that," only to learn when the bill arrived that the (what I was told by the waitress as a "big glass") was a whopping 37$. When I spoke to the manager, I was astonished at the attitude and his training. When I brought up that it wasn't transparent to charge such a price by the glass and not warn the customer, he agreed, like "uh huh uh huh, did you look at the wine list first? You do realize that that was 8 ounces right?" and all the while made my husband and I feel like we were being patronized and not listened to or respected. We will not ever go back. Montreal has many beautiful restaurants with delicious food that far far outshine Brasserie 701, so do yourself a favour, .skip this one and don't go here.More

Our New Years dinner was a big disappointment. We knew it would be a fixed menu with a high price, so we expected an excellent dinner. The service was not great. The server tried to give me the wrong appetizer. The waiter ignored my request...to set it aside. Main course fish was ordinary. Dessert unremarkable. Prices for glasses of wine are ridiculously high. We will cross this off our list for dinners in Montreal.More

We reserved a table for their Christmas night pre-fixe dinner. We ended up sitting at the bar and felt ignored for the entire 2 hours(!) it took for us to finish our meal. Our order was lost, resulting in a half-hour wait before we could...even get something to eat. The portions were terrible: 1 slice of zucchini, 1 terribly overcooked scallop, 6 ounces of beef tenderloin so overcooked that it was inedible. We had to request bread so that something was edible for our meal. The cost was exhorbitant (over $300 for 2 people) and the service was terrible to the point of offensive. We will never return.More

My wife and I chose Brasserie 701 based on reviews on TripAdvisor, menu and price. It proved to be a good choice. The food was excellent. I had the navarin of lamb and my wife had bouillabaisse and they were both excellent. I had to...have the onion soup as well; you can't go to Quebec without at least one serving of this French delight. It too was excellent: just the right amount of cheese and bread. All of the food was served hot and well prepared. Veggies were crunchy and meat was tender. My wife said her shrimp the best in her memory. Service provided by Rebecca was attentive and sincere; she made the evening the success that it was. I will recommend to my friends and will return for certain if we come to Montreal again. And if you think this review is a bit over the top, read some of my other reviews and you will know I am not always so complementary.More

First time visiting and was beyond impressed with the food and service. We went for brunch and our waitress Mathilde was amazing! She was so kind and gave us great suggestions off the menu. The chicken and waffles was the best I’ve ever had. Can’t...wait to come back!More

We just happened to be staying at the lost arms and needed a late dinner on arrival. What a pleasant surprise! Good cocktails , some nice warm, excellent charcuterie platter, bruschetta salad. Tell me a little sad they were out of steak frittes... Not surprised...this is in the top 10.More

Not impressed with the food. The lamb came out cold and I had the salmon that was hot but dry and so salty. It’s a beautiful space and our server quickly made sure we got a new plate that was hot but it was lacking...and we wouldn’t go back.More

It was fine. We were very disappointed based on reviews. My mushroom ravioli sauce had congealed by the time it was served. My husband's filet was flavorless. Our original server was great but as soon as it got crowded we never saw her again. No...one asked how our food was or commented on the face neither of us ate 1/2 our meal. Another sever saved the day by stepping in and waiting on us.More

We were three middle age women looking for an Old Montreal dinning experience. We were so looking for a special night out. What a disappointment. Our Cocktails were terrible, weak, watery and needed to be sent back . The Risotto was bland cold had no...flavor. The Pork dish was tough dry and also arrived cold. All and all we agreed it was one of the worst expensive meals we ever had out in a fine dining restaurant. The resturant it self is in a charming gorgeous building. The atmosphere is totally Old Montreal European. Wait staff were generally cool and unattractive.More

My wife and I had our first dinner of our honeymoon at Brasserie 701. We had such an amazing time and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our server, Gavin, was so gracious and kind. He made us feel special on our honeymoon and was so fun...to talk too. When we asked for recommendations on our trip, Gavin then pulled his colleague, Josh, who was also amazingly kind and gave us some great recommendations. We are so happy to have had dinner here and will return again on our next visit to Montreal!More
