Beautiful restaurant in terms of decor and ambiance. Menu is appealing. Service was brutally slow. Beverages came and were almost finished when I finally went to ask if someone could take our order ( plus 20 min). Had high expectations as it is really lovely...inside. Plenty of staff based on number of patrons so don’t think that was the issue. Kitchen also seemed well staffed. Hope they can improve on this as it is a cute spot.More

Service was good but food was sub par. Had the mussels, no seasoning and bland. Salmon for main, overcooked and potato salads was under cooked and tasteless. Interior is nice. Over priced for quality.

Went here for brunch during the summer. I ordered a flat white & eggs benny. It was delicious and the place is so cute!

This place is a gem in the heart of downtown Halifax! The ambiance is cool, casual and unpretentious. The food is straightforward, and seems like they were planned and prepared with great care. They also have an ample bar for those who are inclined. Service...is a standout here, and the staff try their best to please. We've been here about three times and can't wait to return. Still have to try the breakfast and brunch selections.More

Huevos Rancheros were wonderful and my Celiac husband loved the skillet bowl. Nice atmosphere and service.....

We first stopped here just for coffees when they opened on Saturday morning and were intrigued by the amazing looking food coming out to tables. At lunchtime, when the first place we stopped at was full, we decided to try them out, and we are...super glad we did! The southwest burrito, skillet bowl, and Caesar were all perfect. The service both times was very friendly, efficient, and we felt very welcome. The side salad with the burritos was surprisingly good! The decor was beautiful and we are so glad a place like this is in Halifax! We will be back!More

Had lunch here recently. Attractive, spacious interior decor. Ate on the patio, which is also sizeable. We both ordered vegan clubs. Nice to see vegan/vegetarian choices on the menu. The sandwiches were true to type, if a little dry. The toast overwhelmed the ingredients, but...the sandwiches were tasty enough. No real accompaniments, however. Service was friendly and attentive. Actually, the entire staff was welcoming. Liked the vibe. Would return.More

Such a beautiful spot close to everything in downtown Halifax I ordered the Surf and Turf brunch. Everything was delicious, from the salad dressing to the hollandaise sauce. Also very well priced! My server, Amanda, was a sweetheart and gave excellent service. This is definitely...a new location that more people need to discover!!More

I spent a lot of time here while working in Halifax for a few weeks in fall 2019. Really loved the food and the atmosphere, and the staff (and owner) where incredibly nice.

The Garden Food Bar is a crown jewel of Halifax dining, in terms of atmosphere -- the owners have poured their hearts and souls into the exquisite, classy, old- and new-world decor, including eye-dropping chandeliers and several priceless artifacts from the East -- service, and...food and beverage. The most amazing Bloody Caesar in town, and the pizza, brunch menu, and salads are all delicious, healthy, and carefully prepared. Highly recommend to locals, and anyone visiting who wants to experience the very best of what a growing, thriving Halifax has to offer!More
