This restaurant made our whole trip. Amazing food, great service. The cook apparently travelled a lot, and you can definitely tell. Definitely recommend!

Sandra and her husband (cook) make this a place not to be missed. Had lunch and 3 dinners (just kept going back) as it is amongst the best price quality to find found in the area. Menu is not large but cooking is done with...great attention and detail for flavors. Terras on left side has great sun down view (will close if wind is too strong) - staff is very good with covid-protection and it does not harm their customer service level. Make sure to reserve as this place can fill up quickly, its a true gem. We had a great waitress (had been to India?) and gave that extra little bit of attention making every meal some more special. Price - quality unbeatable.More

The Chef has obviously traveled and worked in many countries in Asia, North and South America. You can feel it in the way he cooks. Although his cuisine is mainly local, it has that delicate international touch that gives a little plus that makes all...the difference with other local fine restaurants: outstanding entrée, friture de la mer, very light and testy! Followed by a great plat-du-jour, roasted lamb, simply perfect! A delicious desert. A fine local pitcher of red wine. A memorable experience! Pure pleasure! Of course, as written by many other people ; a striking vue, and lovely a atmosphere. Two young waitresses are doing a fine job! All of this for a very competitive budget! What else?More

We arrived late from a visit to the lake and they kindly offered us three choices although the kitchen was just closing. Our pork and rice was great: meat falling off the ribs, covered in deliciously sticky sauce. Lots of different flavours. Fabulous. Friendly staff,...chef has lived in England and has an interesting life story. In the middle of nowhere but well deserving of its TA certificate of excellence. Not to miss: the loo with a view.More

This little Auberge is a lovely place for a coffee stop, lunch or dinner. The couple who run it are incredibly friendly, and all the food is cooked in house, especially the desserts. For dinner there is a small menu with a good range of...choices - at least a couple of veggie starters/salads and one main. We variously had duck, entrecôte, and aubergine ravioli. All were very good. Decent wine by the carafe or better list by the bottle. Puds very good especially the "cafe gourmand" pudding taster. There is also a nod to Asian cuisine - pad Thai Poulet the night we were there. It has a great outdoor terrace with a fantastic view. The inside terrace is covered so although it wasn't brilliantly warm we were able to feel like we were getting the view. It also has a loo with the best view in Provence!!More

Mark and Sandra are just "something else". Their hospitality linked to outstanding cuisine has to be tried to be believed. Every day a a menu is created for Lunch and then for Dinner and, there is another menu should you prefer to eat "A la...Carte". Their wine selection offers a great experience to all budgets. We've just returned from holiday in Baudinard and would not consider eating elsewhere unless it's a Pizza that takes our fancy. Go and try it for yourself, we guarantee you will love it.More

We booked last minute for 35 cyclists and Mark and his daughter Rebecca couldn’t have been more accommodating! The food was delicious, especially their salads and the service was 5*. They gave us their terrace on the left exclusively for our group and it was...perfect. The views are amazing. Thank you so much for making our visit flawless, we will be back!More

We decided to take a short break and came back to our well loved Baudinard Sur Verdon. After unpacking we headed straight for Le Chardon. Mark and Sandra were surprised to see us so soon and as always made us very very welcome. The restaurant...was quite busy as it was a Friday night however after a couple of drinks at the bar, Sandra showed us to our table and we ordered some food. My wife chose the Fish & Chips and I had the Gambas. Absolutely fantastic fresh food very well cooked and presented beautifully. Mark really is a great chef, maybe Mr Michelin should pay him a visit! Unfortunately I have read one or two poor reviews, these came as a complete surprise to me as I have eaten here on regular basis when in the area, it just goes to show that some people cannot be satisfied and like to complain for the sake of it. Like everything in life the only way to form an opinion is to go and try it. I personally cannot recommend Le Chardon enough and if it was possible I would award it 10 stars. Go and enjoy the food and great atmosphere, you will NOT be disappointed.More
