I've not been here in ages and will definitely make a point of being more of a regular! Tried the lamb roti and as a take away, the chicken breyani. Medium. Both dishes great. The breyani in particular was simply outstanding.

Our family ate at Sundoon during our visit to Cape Town from the US. The food was incredible, interesting dishes, super tasty and with the exchange rate incredibly well priced. The service was warm and welcoming. Highly recommend to anyone visiting (or local!!). Such a...gemMore

Well this restaurants scores off the scale due to the quality of the food. The Lamb curry was perfect for medium hot. The lamb melted in the mouth with the heat of the spices creeping up on you. Recommend this curry house to anyone.

I've spent a lot of time in South India over the years and cannot understand how this place advertises itself as serving some form of that cuisine. The panner and peas curry (not a S Indian dish to begin with) had a very heavy tomato...sauce, unappetizing and nothing like the fresh fragrant flavor of the South. Roasted veg (N Indian style) were fine. Rice and paratha were good. The atmosphere was nice, the service fine. The food however was mediocre at best. My hopes for discovering S Indian food in Cape Town were dashed.More

Racist: I went here for a family dinner at the recommendation of a friend. As the only Black table in the restaurant, we barely got any customer service. Food was cold and burned after waiting 1.5 hrs to eat. When we raised this with the...manager, she told us she was "colored" and could not discriminate. Also that we were lucky to get a table (she sat us herself). A white man at the table next to us decided to involve himself in our conversation, asking where we were from -- and was terribly rude. After we left and posted a review of our bad experience, him and the other white patrons in the tables next to us posted racist remarks about my family telling us to "go back where we came from" and that we were too poor to eat there. This is white supremacy at its best - and what is wrong with Cape Town at its worst. For the record, we are not Americans. Our lineage traces thousands of centuries on this continent, unlike these white people, and we paid our bill and tipped the waiter who has the misfortune of having to serve racists. The language they use is meant to stereotype what they think of Black people in South Africa. What a shame.More

This establishment was recommended in Brian's Bar, a local drinking hole further down seapoint, also good. Drink local eat local should be your byword. This was one of the best curries we have had, and we have had some over the years. Sign of a...good curry is the slow catch up of the spices on the palate. Staff were attentive and the ambience perfect. We dined early, around 5. I can imagine this would get very busy later on. Wish our town in the uk has a curry house of this quality.More

Whenevet I am in Capetown for a visit, it is one of the restaurant I always go back to. Very friendly service and the food (samoosa's and then the chicken curry is my favourit) is always consistent and very good. Parking can be a bit...if a hassle but usually you can park somewhere nearby. You can't book a table but usually one comes free quickly and otherwise you can sit what I would call "bar style" and have a good look on the hussle and bussle on the street.More

I had a wonderful experience at Sundoo. My friend Donovan introduced me to the place. The lamb curry was the best I’ve ever had; so tender! The service was outstanding. I can’t wait to go back💜🫶🏾

Had seen the review saying the food took 1hr to be served, so just took my book. No need. My superb fish curry arrived in 10 mins! When I asked about the review they explained that the electricity gets turned off here so they only...have gas and so get behind. Not their fault!! Here on holiday but certainly recommend a visit.More

Sundoo Sea Point, my last visit was about three years ago, why did I wait so long? As you walk in you are greeted by this gorgeous hostess by the name of Roshnie, nothing was to much for her, smiles & suggestion a plenty, loved...it , thank you. A friend & I to catched up after a long time & choose this South Indian gem of a venue. We placed our orders & we were both blown away by the presentation & taste of our choices, what amasing Indian cuisine. If this is your thing look no further, this is for you. To the management and staff thank you for a great experience. Kind regards Ferdie LiebenbergMore

We have been here many times. We always love it and tonight was no exception. Loved the fish curry and the havarti chicken curry. Excellent ingredients, flavours and spice level. Great that they give a choice of cauliflower rice for those avoiding carbs and it...tastes delicious too.More
