Save yourself the hassle and avoid this place if you want to have a decent dining experience.! This restaurant needs to be reminded that they are in a VERY competitive industry and they should not take their place for granted. The ambiance & perhaps the...quality of their cuisine (if available) might be the foundation for a nice reset. A few basics: - We were greeted and seated by who turned out to be the general manager (Carlos Tamayo), who reminded us that their guests book their reservations 'months' in advance when we kindly requested a booth. (Even though the place was half empty on a Wednesday night). -Our server (Octavio Pozos) made a very unfortunate comment about prices while we were selecting a bottle of wine. We were debating between a 'Cru Garage Cab' from Valle de Guadalupe & a Cabernet Franc from Argentina. Our server mentioned yet another wine but he said that this wine 'was too expensive', gave us the price (even though we did not ask for it) and walked away. This was very rude and offensive of him because the last thing a server should worry about is if a particular guest could or wants to pay for a certain bottle, we were singled out.! -The following courses were not available: LAMB CHOP / T-BONE (first selection), RIB EYE OR PICANA (second selection), TOMAHAWK (third selection). It is completely understandable that sometimes a kitchen runs out of certain dishes, however; our server could have indicated from the beginning of our dining experience that several of their main dishes were not available. After this last pitfall, we requested our check and let Mr. Tamayo know about our experience. We paid our tab in full plus twenty percent gratuity and left. I want to make clear that this is an honest review & constructive criticism to 'Limonsneros' (beggars in Spanish), we are not the type of guests that ask for or want freebies. 'Limosneros' is a 'has been' place that might have been significant a few moons ago. I personally beg you not to go there.!!More

We went to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and from the moment of reception all the staff members gave us excellent service. The place is very nice and comfortable, the food is delicious and the price ratio is acceptable Highly recommend

We ordered two medium rare steaks. The steaks were served cold on the cold plates. When I asked recooked it they did, but the steaks were served hot but in well done conditions, by the way one of the plaits was cold again. It looks...like they recooked the same two pieces of meat. It was not tasty. Not recommend this restaurant!More

We had a delicious lunch at Limosneros. We got the chef tasting menu (7 courses) and it was wonderful. Not only was the food delicious with layers of subtle flavors, it was also beautifully and uniquely presented. It was a delight to see what the...next course would bring as the items are determined by the chef and not necessarily items on the normal menu.More

I had two nights alone in Mexico after a group trip and made a reservation at Limosneros hoping to treat myself to a somewhat fancier than usual dinner. I’m so glad I did! My waiter Israel was really wonderful and the whole team was efficient...and kind. They explained every dish and repeated a few things when I asked for more details or to clarify my understanding of what things were. Overall it was a great night in Mexico City and a wonderful dinner experience. Would definitely return again in the future.More

My significant other and I were recommended this restaurant from a friend. She is officially a best friend after this meal. We were initially booked for a weeknight dinner, but after one of us had some stomach pains, we rescheduled to the next day. The...host was very polite throughout this process. For the dinner itself, our waiter Israel and his team treated us to an amazing evening. We ordered the chef's special which came in several small plate courses. We do not speak much Spanish, but the wait staff went out of their way to both communicate the contents of each course to us and teach us Spanish along the way, as it related to the meal. Personal food highlights include the wonderful fish and corn soup, the chorizo balls, the fried beef donut with chili sauce (don't knock it 'til you try it), and the glorious creme brule with lemon gelato to finish the meal. Paired with a bottle of Spanish red wine and some espresso to finish, the meal we had was nothing short of spectacular. Many travelers talk about how Mexico City has amazing food, and I believe that Limosneros is leading the charge to back that rumor up. If you have a few hours and want a dinner you won't forget, it's worth every penny.More

Service was casual and friendly We started off with a Milpa Sour and Palmera, two recommended cocktails by our waiters and it was delicious. Then we had a fume blanc wine from France and it was great (of course !) Then we had the "cuitaloche"...taco and the Suckling pig taco and the 28 days dry aged skirt steak taco..the three of them amazing The Cecina tartar was good and tasty. We finished our meal with the sweet taco and it was delish delish Great restaurant in the historic downtown not to be missed for sureMore

The decor of this restaurant is really nice and the staff is friendly. But the food was disappointing. We had a duck appetizer that was not good - cold and very gamey tasting. The chips provided with the salsa were boring and had no flavor....Our entrees redeemed the experience a bit. The duck and chicken entrees were both good, Overall, for the price and given the many other great restaurants to choose from in the city, I wouldn't really recommend Limosneros. Just an ok experience.More

I chose the chefs tasting where I chose one plate from each section. Everything was absolutely delicious and I was incredibly full at the end. The service was outstanding too. I would definitely recommend it.

So we decided to fly into Mexico city for dinner. My fiance found Limosneros online and I'm so glad she did! Food was absolutely stunning. Being a foodie i decided to order myself rather then the chef menu. There was not one thing that was...not spectacularly presented. The service was phenomenal! Israel was our main server but they all worked as a solid team. Some of the best service I've had to date. Highly recommend checking them out. From cocktails to dessert, 10! Was worth the 5 hour flight from Seattle, WA.More
