After reading the various reviews I knew that I needed to eat here as soon as I landed today. My friend and I walked past the hordes of people bombarding us to pay for an overpriced taxi and instead turned left when exiting the airport and crossed the bridge. It put us literally right in front of Tacón de Marlin! We sat down at the first table we saw but were told that there was another room with AC so we moved there. (Great suggestion!) Our server came by to take our order and offered a couple recommendations. Based on his feedback we got the shrimp/crab and shrimp/smoked marlin. When he brought them out he had already split them so that each dish had one of each variety, which was very convenient. He also explained the salsas (I personally preferred the chipotle). They were super tasty with a lot of flavor and a good proportion of seafood. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious. Overall a wonderful experience at a great value! I have already recommended it to a friend for her trip to Vallarta next month! I can’t wait to return.

This is my go to for food to take on my flight or when I need a filling authentic quick meal. As other have said, check in for your flight, then go across the pedestrian overpass by PVR to pick up this amazing burrito to go. All seafood options but is filling and reasonably priced. Tell them it’s for the plane and they will make sure to limit it from getting soggy (with tomatoes) as much as they can. You could share it as it’s large and filling but I recommend you don’t. You will want it all for yourself. They have a few other locations in and around PV too, for when you are not coming or going from the airport. A side story, I had packed my burrito on my flight with me and my seat mate was a Mexican national who had been visited family. He admitted that he had some great home cooked meals, which the loved, while in PV but he was jealous of my burrito and wanted to know where I got it as it looked and smelt amazing. I often wonder if I should carry Tacon de Marlin’s business card with me to hand out on my flights, sadly no business cards exist but it’s easy to find, their blue wall with their name on it is hard to miss.

We went here because our taxi driver didn’t know the restaurant we wanted to go to so we said just drop us off at Tacon de Marlin. It was a Sunday and we lucked out. When we got there it was busy but there was a table available. We ordered the combination with marlin and shrimp. We were told it would take 20 minutes. Luckily we were not in a hurry. We had just gotten into PV and checked into our hotel so were just getting the lay of the land. Tacon de Marlin is right at the bottom of the pedestrian bridge across Hwy 200 from the airport. We noticed several airport workers and pilots stopping in to eat. It was so good that we went back the next day and had the sea bass and shrimp combo. I liked the marlin better however, my friend liked the sea bass. I don’t think you could go wrong with either. I also noticed they have hamburgers so if you are with a non-seafood eater they could try that. I forgot to mention that we shared 1 burrito and it was more than enough food. You get a small jicama salad and pepper salad with the burrito.

My father and I needed to pick a friend up from the airport so we decided to visit Tacon de Marlin for lunch beforehand. OMG. The hype about this place is 100% correct. The shrimp burritos were absolutely delicious. They didn’t hesitate to accommodate my father’s fussy demand for just lettuce and tomato, and I loved trying all of the accompanying sauces. The air conditioned room was a nice touch. The burritos are huge - we agreed we would split one the next time. And there definitely will be a next time.

I thought for sure they would serve *something* that's not fish- or seafood based. I was wrong. None of their entrees omit fish and seafood. What we had was great (burritos of smoked crab and marlin), except for the person in our party who doesn't eat fish or seafood.

This time we ate our burritos inside the air conditioned room as we had plenty time after having checked all our baggage in. We had 3 burritos…shrimp for 130 pesos, smoked marlin for 130 pesos, and octopus for 135 pesos. We wanted the crab but they didn’t have any. All 3 burritos were juicy and hot and the marlin was not dried out this time. The octopus was done just right and not over cooked. Great flavours on all of them. 3 bottles of sauces on the table…hot green one which was very tasty, an orange chipotle that was medium heat and delicious, and a mayo one that tasted just like mayo. Service was quick and attentive…ladies washroom was fairly clean. Whenever we have time after check in, eating in is best as the food is hot and juicy but once brought on the plane or condo, they are not as good.

After getting pesos and SIM cards, we crossed the pedestrian bridge at the airport to sample El Tacon's marlin burritos. Wow. They are grilled on the outside, cut in half, then the cut half is grilled too. The combination of flavors is fantastic. One of us had a shrimp burrito/taco, and it was great too; very fresh. Perfect first meal in Puerto Vallarta.

Overall I love Tacón Marlin. They have excellent food, I personally love the smoked Marlin burrito. It’s outstanding! I also really like the house salad that they bring to the table consisting of cucumber, carrot, jicama, radish in a herbed Mayo. It’s delicious. No the only off putting thing to me is the service can be hit or miss. Today they were busy and the service was a miss but that alone won’t keep me for returning.

We were promptly greeted and ordered a marlin and a shrimp tacon which is just a very big burrito. We were first given a small jicama and cucumber salad and our beverages. My husband and I were going to split the order so we would each have half marlin and half shrimp. Both tasted very good! I especially liked the smoked flavor of the marlin. It reminded me of smoked salmon. I think both were pretty salty and I try to be careful about salt so I decided I just wanted the marlin. Hubby was glad to eat the shrimp. The restaurant seemed clean, has seating and air-conditioning, and is popular with local people. I would recommend this restaurant for a good fish burrito.

I truly think this is the best seafood burrito I’ve ever had in my entire life. When I’m in Puerto Vallarta, I come here at least twice a week for lunch. I always get the combination burrito, which is shrimp, smoked marlin and octopus. I truly rated a 12 on a scale of one to 10. The icing on the cake for this place is the salsa that they serve with the burritos Also, the simple salads that arrive at your table while you’re waiting for the burrito are also quite delicious.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. I fell in love since the first time I tried a Shrimp Burrito. The salsas are the best and the garlic dressing is definitely their secret. If you just landed or are about to depart definitely go across the street from the airport and enjoy the best burrito ever.

We wanted marlin. They were out. We wanted sea bass. They were out. So we had shrimp. And one combo... Supposed to be marlin and octopus and shrimp. But they were out of marlin so it was a duo of octopus and shrimp. But it was all delicious. Even the little starter salad of some unidentifiable vegetables. And it was cheap. And the portions were HUGE so you should share. It's also a better place to catch a cab to your hotel. Just walk over the bridge (turn left when you come out of the main airport doors). Much cheaper ride from there. Great way to start or end your PV vacation.

This is the first time we have done this. Checked our bags and then walked across the bridge for lunch. They have two airconditioned dining rooms here. Still the same great seafood burritos that they serve at their 5th, de Dec, location. Very inexpensive and great service. My husband and I can spilt one and it's enough for lunch. My fav is their shrimp and they are usually so hot when they arrive you can't eat them.

Awesome best describes our experience at Tacon de Marlin. We live in PV and went to the airport to pick up some friends. Since picking up or dropping off folks at the airport can be crazy at times we decided to pick up our friends across the walking bridge from the airport at Tacon. The food and staff were wonderful. My wife asked staff about a spice they used that she enjoyed. The manager came over with a small baggie of the spice for my wife to bring home. Parking is tight but there are a couple of side streets.

A simple walk across the bridge from the airport is a fine way to get your first meal off the plane as I did as well as others. The seafood burritos are delicious. The restaurant isn’t anything fancy but it was clean.
