Maria and the rest of the Provenance team could not have done more to make my first visit an enjoyable experience. The chargrilled Cambridge asparagus, fonduta with Flourish farm leaves was an exquisitely presented starter and delicious. The Sicilian organic Grillo was a perfect match....The, often overlooked by reviewers, toilet facilities were spotless and well ventilated. Thanking the team for making my first post-lockdown Saturday lunch a fabulous experience. I did not feel rushed and was given ample time to read the weekend paper too. All staff were exceptionally kind and thoughtful.More

Our first time here, with two friends we hadn't seen all year. Easy to get to (out of town), lots of parking, spacious restaurant with a lovely light ambience. Interesting menu, very reasonably priced (£32 per head all in - starter, main and drinks) including...service. Friendly helpful staff, and delicious food. My grilled Cornish sardines were simply the best, and the meso chicken was great too. What surprised and delighted me was the incredible mixture of very different tastes in the food. I believe I now clearly understand what umami is! (The fifth tasty, described as 'savouriness' - Wiki). All this marks this venue as 'must visit' for me, and we shall return soon.More

Came for a birthday brunch for my partner. The decor and Covid safety were all lovely but the food not quite what we expected for an occasion. They took a while to take our order and it was quite evident that the food when ready...to be served sat on the side for a little while as we saw it and many waiters taking food back to the kitchen. I had the Turkish eggs and it was pretty cold. Service charge added without an option. Hoping dinner/lunch service may be a bit better.More

So I called the restaurant to book a lunch date for me and my partner last Wednesday but because I was having a hospital appointment first we were unsure what time we should book. I spoke to a charming woman called Kate and explained the...situation so she gave us a large window with regards to timings, which was very understanding and kind of her. For the first time ever my appointment was on time (got to thank Covid for something I suppose) so we arrived much earlier than planned. When we entered Kate obviously recognised my voice and was so very warm and welcoming. After being showed to our table and having a look at the really exciting eclectic menu we spoke to our lovely waitress Amy to ask for some info on a couple of the dishes. She was extremely helpful and informative (especially as we found out later that she was new) and she had the perfect balance of friendliness to professionalism. My partner opted for the sirloin cooked really rare and I had the flatbread with sumac onions and chemoula sauce with a side of hot chilli sauce. John's steak was absolutely delicious and was melt in the mouth - he could literally cut it with his fork which is no mean feat for a sirloin! My chicken dish was amazing and the chefs seasoning was spot on - so many chefs these days seem frightened to use salt. I then had the panna cotta which had the perfect amount of 'wiggle' and was not overly sweet which was lovely. My partner had the cheese board which was yummy and the soft cheese was perfectly ripe. All this was washed down with a very reasonably priced bottle of prosecco and a delish bottle of Chilean red. All in all a really fantastic meal with superb service - Go, you won't be disappointed!More

Just visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Food was absolutely fantastic, one of the best roasts we’ve ever had, service excellent, and nice atmosphere. Would highly recommend and hoping we’ll be back soon!

So we live in duxford and we had meant to try this place out, then lock down happened. Fortunately they started doing collection meals so we enjoyed their food that way. Since they have reopened we have bowed to the peer pressure and may well...be the last people in our street to go for Sunday lunch. It feels like their cauliflower cheese has developed a cult status! Always a bit of a worry when you go somewhere that has been hyped up, but it did not disappoint! We skipped starters because we knew the portions were big, but we did find room for dessert. Considering it is out on its own and the restaurant there before had zero atmosphere, they have done a great job. We will definitely be backMore

I have been here several times and I am always very impressed! I came with a friend on Friday night and we were both delighted with our mains: my grilled hake with Norfolk shrimps was absolutely delicious! The truffle and Parmesan chips were also a...treat! I particularly enjoyed the lemon tart with Raspberry sorbet: really top class! The service is also very friendly, the tables very nicely distanced and it all looked very clean and Covid secure. I will definitely come back and I recommend it wholeheartedly!More

The staff are amazing, the food even better. Fresh and interesting. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. Our friends travel for miles to come here. Easily our favourite restaurant in and around Cambridge. Katie is a star!

What a great place to visit , excellent customer service , great food , ambience. Can’t find one point where i can say it was not great. Staff is helpful and you generally don’t see this type of great service attitude in England.

We have lived in Whittlesford for over 40 years and Provenance is a real treat! On our 6th visit it has never disappointed us. The food and service have both been exceptional. Today we brought some friends for their first time and they adored the...whole experience. It was so lovely to see the restaurant so busy and everyone having such a great time.More

We also asked this. Apparently 'not yet' - the restaurant area is semi formal and the cafe area has people eating on low furniture so too tempting for some of our canine friends. They said they'd consider dogs in an outside... More
