The Longboard is a Caribbean-inspired Coastal Cantina, focusing on fresh, local ingredients, offering light and healthy fares and creative cocktails inspired from coastal regions around the globe. Our menu is comprised with the intention for guests to share bar snacks or small plates before moving on to the rest of the menu. Our bar menu offers a wide selection of house-crafted cocktails, beers, wines, and specialty drinks, including our world-famous Frozen Painkiller. Daily Happy Hour is from 3 PM - 6 PM.
The Longboard is one of our favorite restaurants in Cruz Bay. The last time that we were there (June/July), we gave the person at the entrance our cell phone number to text us when a table was available. We're still waiting for the text.
Good service. Small open air restaurant. Great fresh food with clever combinations that enhance the flavors. Nice happy hour specials. Drinks, especially painkillers, are great. Good service. Reasonably priced.
We went for dinner during our family vacation. Such a treat. The service was great and overall atmosphere was chic and beachy. But the best of all was the food- we got the eggplant appetizer which was probably best tempura we ever ate. We also...got the poke bowls which were super fresh and tasty. Overall amazing and can’t wait to go back (maybe again on this trip)!More
Good poke bowls and sushi wraps. Service was friendly. Thought we’d wait an hour, tops according to the host…..But it was 2 hours. Had drinks at Woody’s while we waited. The food takes a while to get out but it island time. I would recommend...this of healthy meals and pescatarians!More
As with all restaurants in the states, Cruz Bay is lacking in staff. Long Board dealt very well with the shortage. We got our name on the list at 3:30pm and were seated at 6. They texted me when the table was ready. We spent...our downtime at Drink, enjoying views of the Bay and their happy hour. The selections at Longboard were well described, and the food was delicious. I had the tuna stack, which was on the small plate side of the menu, but was plenty for a meal. This was our special night out, and it didn't disappoint.More
These guys don’t need my 5 star review but it was one of the very very few places with super fresh tasting clean food. Service was great. I’m not sure what the other poster was talking about with no GF options? Most of the menu...is GF. Yes, they are busy. So adjust your plans. We went one day at 3 when they opened and got right in. The other day got there a little before 5. They said the wait was an hour and we only waited 20 minutes. My husband will not stop talking about the longbean tempura appetizer special. Have patience and relax. It’s worth it. We will be thinking about Longboard long after we shake the sand out of the suitcases.More
Did would have given a 5 star but, there were few things: Menu was not available in other languages and the tap water bottle was not the best presentation.
My friends didn't like the mango sauce with the tacos, I had the "Mongo". Found it...tasty and the sauce was a mixed of unexpected deliciousness. Hey guys, just change the tap water bottle caps frequently, it needed some cleaning. And if your guest asked for a drink, make sure is the right liquor.More
The entire island of St. Johns was slammed while we were there. Since we didn't want to wait 2-3 hours to eat, we ordered out one night. St. Johns is not a great place if you have to eat gluten free. I ordered Longboards and...was pleased enough to order it the next night. I placed an order and agreed to pick it up again just like the night before. We went to the restaurant and stood at the front of the restaurant for over 10 minutes while the wait staff walked in front of us 50 times, none of them or the bartender (who was also 10 feet in front of us) even made eye contact. We just left and waited for an hour at another restaurant. I hated to leave it, but I'm not going to continue to stand there. I have worked as a waitress and would've never treated anyone like that. Anyway, the bowl I ate was very good, and I heard their brunch is great.More
Our food was good. The drinks were so-so. It’s obviously first come first served, so be prepared to wait. I can’t say anything bad about this place, but it wasn’t our favorite of the places we visited on the island.

We are open year-round, and should be open at the end of September. With that said, we do close for approx. 1 week at some point during low season to complete our yearly maintenance, but I don't have an exact date for that... More
