For us no trip to Sxm is complete without a visit to Bistro Caraibes While it seems Amaury is always away during our visit, Thibault warmly greeted us, they run a great dining room and have always enjoyed dining at their restaurant While the menu...is consistent we always know what is for the main course, luckily for us Thibault returned with some big ones!! Probably no better way to start a French meal than with foie gras paired with a sweet Bordeaux wine (although not specifically a sauterne) and the kitchen did not disappoint for a very reasonable 8 euros there was enough wine to be enjoyed with dessert, the waitstaff graciously kept the wine chilled until dessert arrived you will find a trend of tar tars, ceviche's and tatiki's for my wife's first course selections, her tuna tatiki was selected from the the specials for the evening We selected one of the biggest lobsters from the tank located outside the restaurant along the street and they will take a picture of you and email it to you not necessarily a bargain at about $30 per pound, our guy set us back about $150. Go big or don't go at all is our dining motto we had it cooked half thermidor and half grilled since cream doesn't always agree with my wife Yeah we finished the monster but only because it was lobster I enjoyed a half bottle of St. Veran with my meal as my wife has different tastes in wine Take me home now as we are in gastronomy heaven Barely having room for desert we shared profiteroles one of my island favorites BC offers their distinctive ginger rum as a digestif while not a inexpensive night out, we'll be back for lobster and warm serviceMore

Terrible appetizers but good main course. Service was okay. Way overpriced for a Peach Bellini. Don’t know what everyone else likes about this place.

I've reviewed Bistrot many times. We go at least 2 times during our annual trips to SXM. Year after year this is our top spot in Grand Case. The restaurant is spotless. The service is top flight. The food is the top on the island....We try various dishes, all of which are tasty. We tend to go back to favorites. LOBSTER THERMIDOR for me and FILET of BEEF for Pat. add the French Onion Soup and the Chocolate on Chocolate desert and you have a meal to remember.More

We are so thrilled to say this place has the BEST LOBSTER THERMIDOR. You are charged market price and receive the entire lobster cut in half. It’s dosed in garlic and creamy butter, I can’t say exactly what it is but it’s the best thing...ever. It was succulent. I had the fisherman platter and the lobster bisque was amazing and filling. I loved every bit of this restaurant. Thank you for being superb! Even the mojito were fresh as if it was plucked from their very own garden.More

We ate in Grand Case every night while in St. Martin, and had many amazing meals. Bistrot Caraibes was by far the best meal we had in Grand Case and we will be one of our first stops when we come back to St. Martin....The Lobster Thermidor was without a doubt the best lobster we had on the island.More

Food was great, did not disappoint. Staff was all very friendly and attentive. Returned after our first visit 7 years ago, and were just as happy with our experience this time as we were before.

You can pick your lobster for excellent thermidor. But don't overlook the menu. My wife got the lobster and I had a fish stew bouillabaisse style. We shared and both were excellent. The staff is knowledgeable, courteous and will guide you if they think you...are going in the wrong direction.More
