I saw this restaurant on the food network Chanel. We were in curaçao on a cruise. I wanted to visit this small place. I went with no expectations.it is a rustic little mom and pop place. It seems only the locals come here as it...is away from the touristy places. We were at on a floating pad. Plastic chairs and homemade wooden tables.the language is primarily local, Dutch and some Spanish. No menu but I knew I wanted a whole fried fish. I chose a cornmeal , almost like a tamale without a filling. It was delicious! My husband doesn’t eat fish so he had fries. So my fish , 2 beers and fries were $49. It was well worth it. We could see the ship from our location but we had to walk about 2 miles to get to the pier. The taxi charged us $15 to take us there from the pier. This is a place that you should try. Today they had red snapper and lion fish. It was an adventurous experience!More

A not so hidden gem. It’s a very popular spot, and without a reservation, it’s pretty impossible to get a table. The food is so fresh. Limited availability to what is freshly caught. The fish soup, which our table got the last 3 servings was...amazing. The 4 fresh caught fishes were ordered and devoured! The service is just as wonderful as the food!More

My husband and I met a woman at our resort who grew up on the island and she highly recommend Purunchi. We went for lunch a few days later, and we were blown away. The staff, from the cooks to the servers, were some of...the nicest folks we interacted with on the island and the food itself was incredible. We ordered a sampler of all their catches of the day along with all the sides (the onion-pepper relish became my new favorite condiment) and I’m still dreaming about it: everything from Mahi to parrotfish to lionfish and more, and cooked to perfection. If you’re on Curaçao, don’t miss this spot.More

Puruchi is a local delicious do not miss destination! Very cool local vibe atmosphere, eat on the floating pier/dinning area over the water and watch fresh fish being prepared for the kitchen. We had snapper, tuna and a first for us barracuda. Always been afraid...to eat barracuda because of it being a “poisonous” fish, it was very good! Gina the owner is a gracious hostess! Thank you Gina!More

This is a quaint little spot that houses some great food. The fish & shrimp was fresh and cooked to order. It was savory and must eat again when in Curaçao!

Purunchi was recommended to us by a few folks. it did not disappoint. waterside fish shack which is very popular due to the fish they serve are caught same day. very pleasant/fun staff, great service. simple menu----catch of the day. waitress lists what they have...and helps you pick. then your fish is prepared with sides fries/rice/rice and beans/fried funchi/sweet funchi w/beans/salad/avacado slice. one price for all---35ang. loved the meal and the experience, not high end dining but very very good. make a reservation and go for noon when they openMore

This is definitely NOT fine dining! The dining room was a floating add-on. When we sat, everything tilted to that side- only until other diners arrived did the room balance out. Funny! Tables were plywood, plastic chairs, BUT the food was excellent! We had the...Red Snapper, Yellow fish & Baby Barracuda. The waitress explained that the fish were stated according to the freshest first. All that we ordered was delicious...all came with a delicious fresh coleslaw, fried plantain and a side called tutu , that was a log of black eyed peas, brown sugar and sweet potatoes. It was very good. Never had anything like it, ever. Highly recommend eating here for a unique dining experience!More

The people were so friendly and welcoming. Cozy feel. Very Delicious and fresh fish based on catch of the day. Homemade drinks. Portions were great as we were very full at the end. They are only open for lunch and a small place so make...reservations. It looks like they also do takeout if you can’t get a seat. It was so tasty and we got to sit on the part of the restaurant that is over the water so there was a nice breeze and you can see pelicans floating by.More

This was so good that I went here twice! The menu is on the wall and it is brilliantly simple: "Catch of the Day - 30 Guilders". They will explain the catch of the day, and yo just select whether you would like rice, polenta...or beans. I had lion fosh the first time, and parrot fish the second. The side dishes were delicious and the creole sauce was amazing. This lovely waterfront restaurant had a lovely breeze. It is open 1200-1600, and it a must-visit for great Curacao seafood!!More
