Yet another beautiful spot Eddy from "Cuban Classic Car Tours by Eddy" took us. This was our second visit with him and the beer is always ice cold. Sitting on the patio you get a great view of the bay. Day or night is a...great time to visit this location. CHEERS!More

Having visited this establishment twice the best advice I can give is to avoid it altogether. First visit was a quiet Saturday morning. The atmosphere was pleasant beers were 2CUC each. The beers themselves sadly were quite poor. There were three beers on tap Clara, Medio and...Negro. Two were available during our visit - Medio and Negro. The medio tasted a little like dishwater, the negro like dishwater with some additional roasted malt. On our second visit when we called the bill the beers had magically doubled in price to 4CUC each. On questioning the waiter he suddenly lost his grasp on the english language and was also unable to provide a written bill or a menu in order to dispute the pricing. I'm sure this is a case of the minority spoiling it for everyone else but in in my opinion this sort of practice is completely unacceptable.  The only real reason to visit here is because it seems to be the closest bar to San Jose Market. However, I would urge you to continue on and find somewhere else that will not grossly overcharge you.  On the other hand if you enjoy poor beer, occasional bi-lingual waiters and price lists that Penn & Teller could be proud of then this is the place for you.More

BEWARE, they will scam you. They have one big posted menu out front with prices. When you get your bill they charge you more making up some excuse that the posted price is for the smaller glass of beer and you got the bigger glass...of beer. There is only one size. One day we were told mojitos were 4cuc (which is outrageous anyways, and is only 2.50cuc for Cubans) and the next day they billed us at 4.85cuc saying servicio was included on each individual item. The staff pocket the difference and charge whatever they want and so the bill comes to an amount that is more likely for you to leave the change. When a big group of 8 people arrived we overheard the waiters say “look, 8 people, let’s go make some money.”More

We went there as it was recommended to us at the market. It was a cruise day trip, so I wanted to experience a bit of the food and drinks, but as it was the end of the day and we were tired we didn't...do our research and just accepted the suggestion. It's a huge place, looks good but strange, I guess in the evening with music and dancing it would feel different. We are not really beer drinkers but I felt tempted when I saw how they bring it over, a huge tube with a tap, but my family didn't fancy it. I asked for a mojito, and they said they didn't have it (!!), I settled for a Cuba Libre, but they brought a mojito with rather ill mint leaves, I drunk it but had better ones in the UK. The food was limited, they only had a few items available and it wasn't any special.More

We went to this place for dinner immediately after arriving from a long day of travel. I was excited to try the dark beer. I read all of the bad reviews, but decide to try the beer. When we saw the prices listed on the...large board outside, we decided to eat dinner also. BIG MISTAKE! The beer was good and that is the only nice thing I can say about this place. Every concern in the reviews happened to us. Prices for our food and beer were no where close to the prices on the board outside. The price changed when we got our bill (double and triple), when I argued with our waiter he found a mathematical error, only had 6 choices for food (even though the board showed a large menu), the food was sparce and tasted awful, the waiter was rude and argumentative, it was nearly impossible to get the waiter's attention even though they were socializing at the bar. Don't be fooled. There are wonderful restaurants in Old Havana. Go to one of the ones with a 5 star tripadvisor rating and you can't go wrong. We ate at 10 different 5 star restaurants in Old Havana and had wonderful food and prices.More

We went for lunch. The menu is limited, well very small. The food was average. But the service was really poor. It felt like the waiting staff really couldn't be bothered. There was a band playing (badly) and kept coming round the table and looking...for tips. Not the best lunch in Havana.More

Not everything on the menu is available, but the chicken we got was good, and the same for the pork skewers. Beer was the best part, together with the live music. Service was really average though.

A bit disappointed as we felt taken advantage of here. They had 3 beer choices, light, dark, or black. We went with a few of each. Wasn't the best beer but wasn't the worse beer. We did have mojitos here and they were much better...than the beer! Sadly, we were unaware that they had any menu items other than the pork, chicken or shrimp. Food was good but very overpriced compared to other restaurants we ate at during our week in Havana. The big plus for us was the view and the great craft and art market next door. They also had an all female band playing who weren't half bad and fun to watch. They passed a hat at the end and we were glad to throw in some pesos.More

We, and friends, were in Havana via a Royal Caribbean cruise. All of us are from Florida and everyone in our group are huge craft beer fans. We have many great local Florida breweries we love, so we were really excited to try their beer...and have a mid afternoon lunch, especially after a hot walking tour of Havana. Well..... First off, apparently the brewery hasn't been brewing for the last few months now, according to our waiter. Some alleged mechanical issues. We could only get a Buccanero in a can. It was just ok. Typical standard, adjunct beer. So that was disappointment numero uno. Next we asked for menus. No menu. Only a huge wooden stand up menu the waiter finally dragged to our table. When we asked about the different menu choices, he kept pushing the chicken and shrimp dishes. Turns out, all they had was chicken and fish. They were out of everything. No featured sandwiches, no enchiladas, no appetizers. Nada. We finally settled on the shrimp. After about 25 minutes and one more adjunct Bucanerro beer later, our food arrived. About 14 shrimp each, the size of a dime, smothered in a plain, blah tomato sauce, served on little tapas sized plates. That's it! No bread. Not even so much as a saltine to go with the pricey 12cuc meal. The only good thing we can say, is the large, quite stylish, open and airy building, was a nice respite from the heat. Other than that, it was quite disappointing. Do yourself a favor when in Havana, don't go here. Go to one of the paladors (privately owned restaurants) downtown instead.More

This place really is a restaurant with a brewery theme. It is in a large open-air warehouse, expansive with sparse seating. They have about 30 tables "inside" and 10 more outside by the water. The place is located along the inlet, just South of the...Ferry terminal, so the view is not great. The wait staff hangs out at the entrance and will intercept you as you walk in and seat you. Inside, at the center of the warehouse is the brewery equipment, locked behind glass, it looks unused. The first time we went, they only had one type of beer, a very plain Amber Lager. It was OK. They served them in large glass steins, that they do not completely fill. You can also order those large plastic tube that have a tap at the bottom and hold about 8 beers, ; not a bad idea since the service is very slow. The food was good: we ordered the Pork prongs, but the sides were more for decoration than accompaniment to the meal. The mashed potatoes (if that is what that was) was two tiny scoops and disgusting. Suckers for punishment, we went a second time (actually, the goal was the bazaar next door, but we where hot and thirsty). This second time, they didn't have any locally brewed beer, so we had to settle for cans of some national brand ... at least it was cold.More

Really cool atmosphere. Bit better beer then Cuban avarage, but would not call it craft. When we visited they charged us 50% extra without explanation. We were in the begining of our journey so we just paid.

Along the water and right next to the main flea market. Very open design. Beer was refreshing on a hot day. Did not try food. Bathroom costs 1 peso. Band played lively music.

We visited for lunch. The brewery is set on the water, right next to the markets which is very convenient after or during a visit to the markets. It has a nice vibe and views, live music and seems popular with locals. You can either...sit inside or outside. We chose outside for the breeze and the views but inside is where the vibe and the music is and it is also quite pretty. They have an extensive menu of very cheap eats but only had 4 items available on the day. No problem, we ordered from what they had - I had Ropa Vieja for the first time. It was really good and so started my love of this traditional Cuban dish which would be my go meal for our entire trip! Service was good, not great, but the staff are friendly, which goes a long way. As we left later in the afternoon, the place was really filling up so if you want a table, be there by about 12pm.More
