Sprigs is a cafe and deli in the heart of Kloof Village, Durban. Opened 20 years ago by twin sisters Clare and Fiona Ras. We offer an array of different breakfast and lunch options, using fresh ingredients and adapt our menu daily. We are known for a Harvest Table at lunchtime as well as delicious Chocolate Brownies and Cheesecake.

I enjoyed an excellent omelette which was served so quickly. Although the menu is small, it has enough variety to satisfy most tastes. Service was friendly and efficient. The variety of homemade made and craft foods is tantalizing!

I met up with some friends for a coffee meeting.
Coffee was great and the selection of baked treats to go with our coffee was excellent.
After eventually choosing from the array of goodies we settled down to a great catch up in a great place.
I have been visiting Sprigs and it never disappoints. A true quality gem in Kloof.

What a happy place to be! The food was fresh, flavorful and authentic. A great place to have a bite, but also to buy those special little extras that you can usually only source online.

Service was fine. Atmosphere fine. Was served a half cooked omelette with "water" all over the plate and as I was a guest of someone else did not complain as they would have been embarrassed. They had an uninspired pesto chicken breast sandwich which despite being toasted was cold. Coffee was average. Not inspired either by the baked stuff on offer. They used to make the most stunning bran muffins.

I took my hubby to Sprigs last week and was very disapointed to find a live slug on my plate, when I pointed this out to the manageress she advised me that the product was organic which i appreciate but I would appreciate it more if it was washed properly. She was very obliging by offering me other options but I am rather queasy and declined, she did not charge me for the meal ( which I did not eat at all) but she went the extra mile and didnt charge me for hubbys pie either which I appreciate. However the experience of finding a live slug crawling on my plate has put a serious damper on my opinion of the establishement and I dont think Ill be going bacl

Honestly so disappointed. Upon arrival we specifically asked if they can cater for Gluten free.
We were assured they can and were told the pans & utensils will be washed before our food is prepared and that everything will be prepared separately. I have Coeliac & my husband is Gluten intolerant. Halfway through the meal both us started to experience symptoms that only come about when we've consumed gluten. There is no medication that can be taken for this and we will now both be in pain for several days and our bodies will take weeks to bounce back from this.
Gluten free is not a lifestyle choice for many it is a severe allergy & auto-immune disease that has serious health effects. Don't offer GF options if you are unable to 100% guarantee the food will be safe for those of us with allergies.
Such as a shame as it is a wonderful place but it is not allergy safe.

sprigs is consistently good. Great coffee, the best cheesecake I've ever eaten, good harvest table and a nice deli. You won't be disappointed. hey even have "pop-up" dinners for a nice bistro style dining experience.

Sprigs is one of my favorite places and such a treat.
The healthy food is so appealing - with a range of salads , a delicious quiche , vegan options , artisan bread and water with fruit garnish.if after weighing a plate of salads , the pocket and waistline allow the deserts and coffee are irresistible .
Great place for a catch up with friends.

Beautiful food shop. Lots of different special ingredients for sale. Also ready made freshly cooked healthy meals. Alternatively you can go for coffee and delicious cake or pastries and they also serve delicious food for lunch. Just take a plate, serve yourself and have your food weighed. You pay by weight. All the food is cooked on the premises on the same day. The owners Fiona and Clare are passionate about what they do, and always helpful if you are looking for certain ingredients.
Their chocolate brownies are to die for!!!
Oh and let’s not forget they serve delicious breakfast too.

Had the most delicious herbed, scrambled eggs on toast with an awesome tomato relish. Salivating just thinking about it! Love the idea of choosing to sit in or out. Great Latte too.

A great place to have a healthy diet.
Really good food, also coffee is good service is reasonable and well worth a visit for breakfast or lunch as they are definitely a class above the norm

Tucked away in a local Kloof Mall, Sprigs is well known by locals as well as those further afield. They offer a fabulous harvest table for lunch and there is a comprehensive menu offering delightful tasty alternatives. Their bakery section has numerous mouthwatering treats in offer and their retail section has loads of special goodies that will certainly appeal to foodies . Staff are charming and fully informed on what is on offer. A special place indeed.

I visit often... sometimes just for a splendid coffee to charge the soul and sometimes for a delicious bite to eat. Apart from the fine fare, there are other offerings around the counter that will mesmerize both the knowledgeable and not-so- experienced in the field of proper South African Afrikaans preserves..... The MOSKONFYT is a definate!!
