Our first (very far!) roadtrip to Nortern Cape. This colourful spot drew us in with great anticipation. However, we were not greeted or welcomed in. As a matter of fact our presence seemed to be actively ignored. The (perceived) owner / manager was sour-faced and...did not make any attempts to engage with us, even after we enquired about a table - and there were definitely tables available. It is almost as if they did not want any business and we were an irritation to them. We cannot comment on the food as we then walked right out of there to take our business elsewhere (and it was worth it!). Shameful behaviour by Rose Cafe. This is not what we experienced anywhere else in the lovely Nortern Cape. I wonder what the dominee would say!More

A lovely coffee shop, crammed full of colorful Porchie products, like place mats, shopping bags, even puzzles. These are quite expensive, but great quality.

Rose Café provided a welcome stop on our journey; ‘popular with locals and visitors alike’ (as they used to say in the travel guides), it offers a range of hot and cold drinks, as well as excellent cakes and desserts – these are available for...takeaway too. They include apple cake, carrot cake and cheesecake. In front of the café is an area of rose quartz pebbles, for which the area is famous. There is a clean, cool ‘rest room’ block with fresh towels. Look out for the big blue teapot; you can’t miss it!More

Service was outstanding. I had the Lindt coffee and that was ok. However, their pizzas were divine. I was sceptical but boy was I blown away. I could have eaten one on my own and usually a couple of slices is enough. If you are...nearby, get a pizza.More

Rose Café was a cool and welcome oasis on a hot day in Kakamas. The tinkling sound of the fountain and soft music welcomed us as we entered this charming venue. the flatbreads that we both ordered were exceptional and without doubt the best we...have EVER had. Hope to pass thee again one day.More

Would love to give this a good review but we had a poor experience with the staff before we even ordered so we left. After sitting down a waitress came and threw the menus on the table with a “there” and walked off. When she...later returned her mask was below her mouth. My wife asked very politely if she wouldn’t mind putting it up please. She picked the mask, and put it over her nose and then right back where it had been, as if to say “up yours”. We got up and left. Not because of covid. Because of the rudeness of the action. Honestly disappointed as we were looking forward to morning coffee and cake there! Hope everyone else had a better experience, which from other reviews seems hopeful!More
