We visited Die Keldery in 2016 and had a great experience. Visited them again in May 2021 and the staff is still friendly with good service

The venue was closed for a wedding reception. No sign on the gate, no notice on the door. I popped int o have a look at the restaurant and perhaps have lunch. Just got a rude "we closed" as a greeting. I asked if I...could have a look around and was told "the wedding is about to start". There was not a guest in sight, never mind the bride or groom. Sadly, this is an example of how ONE staff member can lose a property a customer in one short encounter. All it would have taken was a "good afternoon, how can we help." or "So sorry, we're closed for a private function, but here's our brochure or card ..." etc. Dreadful experience unlike the wonderful Teubes Family Wines next door and the other 5 or 6 restaurants I visited during my 7 days in Vredenal. I'd say AVOID De Keldery if possible. Unless you need to stock up on rudeness and mass produced wine.More

I was very surprised when the chicken schnitzel I had ordered arrived as a steak! The quaint young waitress who thought that she could memorize our table's order seemed perplexed when I queried the matter. She offered to correct the order which meant I would...have had to wait for another 30 minutes while the rest of our party enjoyed lunch and they would then have to wait for me to finish. Otherwise the food was good. The setting with its spectacular view would be a highlight for any tourist. Tables are placed in a dormitory manner, but one has the choice of sitting outside on the stoep.More

The setting of this restaurant is gorgeous with awesome view and gardens. It is a great place for groups space and peace wise but to be honest the food is nothing to write home about yet the value for money is ridiculously poor.

I doubt whether a group of four women meeting for lunch to celebrate Woman's Day needed any extra atmosphere to enjoy themselves. The stunning view of the Maskam Mountain provided the rest. However, the waitress could have scored higher points if she did not particularly...recommend the Hake which three of us subsequently ordered, - as it was definitely far from fresh. The restaurant has a lot going for it, but after all one would like to enjoy relatively good food when going out for a special occasion.More

We had a function at the Venue, and what a surprise this was. The venue is trending and very comfortable. Spacious, clean, modern and ready to host any function. The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly and helpful.

Good food and wine. Variety of Namaqua wines on offer. Some Klawer and Lutzville wines too. Wine pairing with chocolate or biltong on offer. Nice setting to sit down and eat outside or inside. The establishment is quite wheelchair friendly and spacious. Friendly and efficient...staff. A worthy stop when you in the Vredendal/Klawer areaMore
