It pains me that I can't give the restaurant more points, because we where treated in a very welcoming manner. The fish and the Tzatziki were good, the rest was not delicious though. When I heard the sound of the microwave I knew what we...had to expect. Especially the meatballs, cold on the outside, were far below average. There are better choices in Town, so I would not recommend this place...More

We came here twice during our 7 day stay on Zakynthos, because of the good food, nice location an friendliest server, Ari, we got to know during this trip. They have nice typical greek starters, and good fresh fish like seabass, seabream served with fresh...grilled vegetables and fries- all nicely served&prepared. Dessert was on the house- a typicial kind of cream slice- and some Raki. Ari, our server, was very nice, gave us goid recommendation, not just on the food&made us feel like home. Many thanks.More

We’ve had our dinner in Ammos Taverna two days ago (first week of October ). Even though it is pretty much the end of a season, and covid19 is not making things easier, we were warmly welcomed by the owner and staff members. At the...entrance we were kindly encouraged to sanitize our hands (very responsible). We have ordered grilled squid and a sea bream, everything was delicious and reasonably priced. After paying we were served extra dessert (🤤) and some rakija. We left the restaurant full and happy... I have even forgotten my wallet which (to my relief) I received back two hours later, when I realized to my horror I simply left it behind... If I be back in Zakynthos town I will be back in Ammos in a heartbeat, not only for the food but also for the people. Thank you again for having us!More

It deserves its reputation as the first tavern in Zakynthos. They have fresh fish, I served pasta with seafood and fish platter for two people who are served with a garnish of potatoes that do not taste frozen. They have the best olive oil, and...in the end they are always careful with a dessert from home.More

We were also led to this place from positive reviews and are so pleased we were. We had such a friendly greeting from the proprietors and wonderful service throughout. It is in a beautiful location in a square on the main road next to the...bay. We would recommend the sardines, anchovies, gigantes, shrimp saganaki, spicy feta dip. We didn't have any of the grilled meats, but the portions we saw others have looked incredible. A leisurely and relaxing lunch in wonderful surroundings.More

We stopped here on the way to the airport on the off chance that we could have a light lunch. I cannot recommend this place any more. The food was wonderful and the owners were so gracious. Please support this business, you won’t regret it!

Terrible lamb kleftiko, bland stifado, passable spag bol. Friendly staff but rushed, place was very busy - probably because of all the good trip advisor reviews, but these were not consistent with our experience.More

Food is below average. Seafood plate was not fresh and tasteless. Wine is warm. Salad was floating in mayonnaise. It’s worse than McDonald’s. I really hope that they would focus on quality of the food rather than investing in positive image on Tripadvisor and accusing...me that I mixed up the places. I am pretty sure i was in Ammos Taverna or not other tavernas. And please Amos Taverna, stop messaging me that I should have talked to you first. I am not going to spend my holidays arguing at the restaurant and teaching to to cook. That’s why we have trip advisor, so you can improve. I am sorry but I didn’t enjoy a single thing during my dinner.More
