Start your day with a speciality Origin coffee of choice or fresh smoothie, while catching up on the news. The House Kitchen has the best view in town (you have to see it to believe it!) and offers delicious breakfasts, wholesome lunches and delectable dinners. We offer simple, wholesome cuisine. Traditional home-cooked meals made with a contemporary flare, using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. For those with a sweet tooth, we are known for our irresistible cheesecake, served with berry compote and creme fraiche. We also cater for weddings, birthdays and other functions accommodating 65 seated guests or 85 casual guests, depending on your requirements.

Management is very poor and blame the staff that can only cope with so many people. Horrified that should anything go wrong they take the whole meal out of their hard earned tips or salary. THIS IS NOT RIGHT. Management please step up as it you job to make sure things run well.
The food was average but the view awesome.

The restaurant was extremely busy on the day we went due to December holiday makers but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They moved us to a table inside when we asked for the next available one and the coffee and food came in good time even though they were so busy.
They gave our kids toys to play with while they were waiting.
The shop attached to the restaurant has beautiful things in it.
A lovely spot!

We go to Kenton On Sea often and have had a number of meals at the House Kitchen.
Have to say always enjoyable, good food combined with lovely views.
This particular visit we enjoyed a calamari steak, calamari strips and a chef's salad. All of it was well prepared, nicely served and it made for a most enjoyable outing.
If in Kenton then please do try and have a meal at The House Kitchen, you will not be disappointed.

We did a quick trip from Grahamstown into Kenton for a swim in the river and a quick lunch. This venue gave us a great location to look out over the area and enabled our local friends to tell us a bit about the area. We enjoyed our food thoroughly even though we literally had an hour from arrival to departure and that put a bit of pressure on the staff. My fish and calamari choice was excellent - wish I'd had time to enjoy the shop and other attractions.

While it has an impressive menu, Be sure to check an order if you are vegan. The whole breakfast menu is not vegan and even a simple avo toast ends up with feta on the plate. Even though not stated on the menu. So mention clearly that no dairy is included if vegan or intolerant

Nice place for something to eat or a coffee. However some items on menu bear no resemblance to what you get. In particular to Caprese salad so avoid this one.
Service reasonable although like most places in this area you can have a long wait even when not busy.

Not many places to choose from as we are here off season but we have been twice to the House Kitchen; once for breakfast and once for lunch and both times had a pleasant experience. The smoothies and coffees were good and breakfast had a nice selection of options. French toast was delicious. We went back for lunch and had lovely salads, wraps and calamari. Considering the options available this spot felt like it was at the high end of what was available and the staff and service were good. If its a nice day there is a nice deck with a view too! The café is at the back of a lovely gifting and resort wear retail space.

Reliable, good service and consistent. This place is consistent and the service and food is consistent. Great variety on the menu especially for vegetarians or vegans. Friendly service. The shop at the store has a great selection of clothes, books, jewellery and a wine shop. One of its kind in Kenton.

In a nutshell: Beautiful decor, wonderful coffee and a most amazing health cake, a variation on the carrot cake.
Friends took us to the House Kitchen. The shop has a beautiful range of gifts too.

We celebrated a 21st birthday with dinner at the Kitchen. Good food and good service. They do serve non-alcoholic cocktails. The waiters are not trained to explain these. Most of people in our group had the prawns. I had venison (Eland) which was good.

My mothers mango juice was off, she’s gluten free (allergic) and asked for her bread on the side to give to my partner but they put her food on the bread with all the sauce soaking into the bread. My father asked for his eggs to be flipped and got them super runny. My chips were cold and soft. Very disappointed
