Sooo good and compliments a grand day out

Dropped in during a day trip around Tamborine Mountain to get a mixed pack of fish and chips with some other sides and it was all excellent. The fish (cod) was thick and moist, full of flavour, the chips were spot-on and the extras complimented it well. Even our 19 and 13 year old sons enjoyed it and couldn't finish the serve! The staff were absolutely lovely and genuine, relaxed and pleasant, but at the same time efficient and engaging. Looking forward to an excuse to go up again as it's rare to find such a great seafood place anywhere, let alone around Brisbane.

Good service, good meals

We visited Mt Tamborine last week and both times we went to the Codfather, it was well patronised by locals and tourists alike. The service was polite, helpful and reasonably quick and the meal was delivered in a disposable container. Servings were ample and tasty.

Excellent fish and chips in a perfect portion size

I had fish & chips recently and it was absolutely delicious. What I loved most is that it came with a half-serve of chips, which is perfect for one person. Chip serves are usually huge and I can never get through them all, which seems like such a waste of food. This serving was just right. As well as excellent food, the staff are super helpful and friendly. I'll definitely eat here again.

Disappointed

I’ve tried this place before and wasn’t impressed but it’s been a while so I thought I’d try it again. It didn’t disappoint, it was horrible. The service wasn’t pleasant at all.If I’m paying up to $17 for a piece of fish I expect to be able to have it cooked whole like other fish shops not cut into pieces and I’m sure one of those pieces was cod not the snapper I ordered.But the highlight was the very overcooked chips they were awful and the fis was overcooked too. The oil the food was cooked in obviously wasn’t filtered. The shop was run by a couple of teenagers who quite clearly didn’t care or want to be there. Never again will I buy from there.

Excellent service and yummy food!!

Visited on a Sunday with my daughter. We ordered potato scallops, Dim Sims and chips. They were very busy, but the order came through quite promptly, and the service was very friendly. Everything was crispy, delicious and freshly cooked. Only small reasons they didn't get a 5 out of 5 was our request for chicken salt on everything was forgotten, and the drinks fridge had just been restocked so my drink wasn't that cold. Would definitely visit again, and try the actual fish next time!!

Worst take away experience ever

Deplorable!! Inedible!!! Ordered 2 x whiting, calamari, sea scallops and chips. Sea scallops were obviously old as they were as hard as rocks. Whiting...debatable..just crumbs virtually. Everything was overcooked and saturated in fat...left your mouth coated in fat. Gave what there was of the fish to dog with crumbs removed...hope he doesn't feel sick like we do now. Rang them to let them know and give them a chance to rectify but 'manager' just responded "I'm so sorry." Not good enough!!!! Will never go there again. Can't treat locals like this.

Many great reviews, which I agree with, quality of food is excellent. But they run out of things so often. No eggs, no bacon, no beetroot on my burger, no onion on my burger (which is asked for 3 times) no veggie spring rolls, and who knows what else they were out of. I get that they get busy, and it's a wonderful thing to have such a thriving business, but seriously, the IGA is right next door, can't a staff member pop out for 5 minutes to pick up these essential items, instead of them constantly have to tell customers that they're out of these things. I don't know, has just put me off for next time, will more than likely choose somewhere else for take away next time, I noticed there's a new? Asian take away next door, will give a try next time instead

Local gem!

Great fish and chips, and such great staff! Arrived late from Sydney and just wanted to grab anything for take away dinner… so glad we found this place - the lovely lady pointed out some places to visit, and threw in some sauces for our dinner too. Genuine people and nice honest food. Highly recommended!

Cod and chips for us both. The servings are generous and the batter and chips were delicious. Had a couple of battered prawns as an extra and what a terrific choice. Will certainly be back!!!!

Fresh & Tasty local fish & chips.

This shop has been around for ever seems to be New Menu again. Served promptly, helpful & friendly, missed one of our shakes but quickly made it once notified. Nice milkshakes. Fish was nicely cooked, nice fresh prawn cutlets (not frozen) battered seafood sticks were good, chips a bit average, side salad ok, overall $70 3 adults we were full, always great for a local fish & chips fix 👍

If you are in the area and looking for a quick, no fuss simple meal you can't beat this place for service, quality of food and value. A no fuss, simple takeaway (or eat in) for anyone including family meals with huge servings and the best value in town. Very friendly, happy service. It has a nice vibe about it. You may be lucky and find some extras - simple Italian home baked pastries and deserts for sale also! The burgers are sensational, you won't fit in any chips!

Best burgers ever!

Delicious the lot steakburger & cheeseburger for partner, with a couple of potato scallops on the side & a tea. All cooked to order & worth the wait. We chose to takeaway this time, but plenty indoor & outdoor seating, & for those who haven't had their fill, an array of lovely fruit tarts, ice cream etc. on offer as well, all served by a friendly Yorkshire lass. Well worth a visit & the drive up from the Gold Coast.

Best codfish and seafood basket

We ordered the meal that serves 2-4 persons for our family of 5. As we are asians with one young kid, the portion was huge for us. The codfish is so fresh and the calamari rings are simply tender and fresh as well. We added sea scallops and it was never a regret. Everything about them is so good and the price is also reasonable. Love the staff there as they are always in a good spirit. Good place to have your lunch there before starting your walk in Tamborine!
