Relaxed Sunday afternoon under the vines sipping a fine rose & nibbling on crispy based pizza’s & pear salad... nowhere in the world could be finer. We look forward to our next visit - thank you

As the name hints, this is a new-home (new-stead) with the first vines being planted around 2007 with the first vintage coming on stream a few years later. The vineyard only produces white wines, both sparkling and still, but there is also a restaurant offering light bites as well as pizzas and their excellent stone baked fresh ciabatta. It’s a place for grazing and passing through, rather than a full meal and the rose was particularly good.

Ate lunch here for second time in a year. The setting is stunning, superb views over the mountains and vineyards. The food is very tasty, home cooked with loads of flavour and presented very well. The service was excellent. They run out of their own wines sometimes but the choice of drinks is ok. If it’s a hot day try and eat on the stoep. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Oh wow! What a pleasant surprise this was! I wish I could host a party at this stunning venue! The most friendly staff. Fresh beautiful flowers everywhere. We just lived everything about it! Unfortunately we already had lunch, because the pizza oven was burning, and the chef was busy with the pizza dough- real handmade dough! The best MCC we tasted 🍾🥂🍾🥂

We always make an effort to visit this wine estate at the Crags over the years. It provides the perfect setting to enjoy a good glass of MCC or wine alongside their succulent pizzas and salads.

Year on year. She is simply amazing.
Well done to all at Newstead. Keep doing the good work

Fantastic service and wonderful food

Food was good but the service staff was spread so thin and the owner sat and watched and was served before customers. Not a good look.

We enjoyed our wine tasting. Well positioned just off the N2 with lovely views over the countryside. Wines not exceptional but good. Service very efficient and friendly.

We had a lovely lunch here with really excellent food ,wine and service. This was our first visit here and we were really impressed with the management and organisation.

We had a great visit to Newstead. Their Sauv Blanc is excellent, and their food is equally good. Servings are not large, but the key attraction is their wine. Service was great, we were made to feel very welcome and were greeted by Sue Lund herself.
Unfortunately if one one needs a large table during the high season, it’s necessary to book well in advance as Newstead is well appreciated by many!

Fabulous restaurant with an equally fabulous setting. The staff are one of the best I’ve ever encountered - attention to detail, informative, lots of smiles and all round awesome. The food is simply put - amazing - and the wines are top class. Definitely will be visiting Newstead again in the very near future.

Thank you team Newstead for an absolutely fabulous afternoon lunching on your terrace! You helped us build the most memorable time with visiting friends...Zikhona is a gentle gem and such a superb waitress! Susan, the hostess, is warm & hospitable and made us all feel sooo welcome...including our 6 teens!! Delicious tapas, pizzas and vino! Newstead, you rock!!
