Lunch at Peppermill Café is always a joy. Good food, nice wines, cosy atmosphere under big shadings. It is a bit difficult to find, but coming from Plettenberg Bay on the N2, just past the gas station at the. rags, turn right and later on...follow the signs to the Peppermill Café.More

Absolutely brilliant. Very informal - only open some nights, so ring in advance. Lovely food, in a domestic setting - complete with donkeys. Help yourself buffet. And bring your own wine. Will definitely return.

Villa Villekula A lovely, quirky spot a few km north of Plett on the N2. This family run business is low key, no fuss but serves 5-star quality food with friendly, genuine service. It’s family style, buffet (except Friday nights). Dinners Wed- Sat and reservations...are a must as there aren’t a lot of tables. The atmosphere is so down-to-earth with quirky decor, a couple of dogs, cats wondering in and out, and even a resident donkey(outside only!). Words don’t do Villavillakula justice - you need to experience it in person. Breakfast also fantastic and there are even a couple of rooms for B&B. The other guests are interesting as well and there is lovely outdoor area to have a drink/breakfast. Set menu for the week comes out on Tuesday or Wednesday. They are accommodating with dietary restrictions - I’m vegetarian and I let them know in advance and she prepared a lovely alternative to the meat dish. Even without that, the choices available are numerous and portions plentiful - seconds are highly encouraged! The price of dinner and dessert is set and you can either bring your own wine or order from their menu. We felt it was excellent quality, value and atmosphere - really something special to add to the already amazing Plett area. Worth the drive - not far past the old Barnyard theatre.More

We stayed overnight here and loved both dinner and breakfast. Dinner is a set menu and you need to book ahead of time. Very cool that it's bring your own drinks, so we brought one of our bottles of wine that we had been meaning...to drink. Breakfast has several choices and we loved everything we ordered.More

Officially our favorite place in all the Garden Route. The food is brilliant, flavourful and absolutely delicious... every time. The owners are lovely, humble and very hospitable. Their love for the place (and the fur babies) is beautiful . The atmosphere and rustic decor makes...it feel like a home from home. Highly recommended!More

This place has its charm. The decor is shabby chic and it has a cozy atmosphere with lovely views from the terrace. However, the owners, especially the lady, are rather inhospitable and arrogant. Pity. Food reasonable, as is the price.
