My friends and I discovered Peppermill on a volunteer trip and ate there everyday for a week. If there was a review over 10/10 they would get it. This spot makes you feel welcome and had no food that came out of the kitchen less than delicious. We loved trying everything on the menu and socializing with the friendly staff and I cannot express enough how much they deserve your business.

Amazing Place/Food/Drinks/People!!!!

My friends and I went to the Peppermill Cafe everyday for lunch while we were volunteering in Kurland village for 2 weeks. The food and drinks were absolutely amazing and the staff was very warm and welcoming every time we went. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and would recommend to anyone that is in the area!!

Good food on a windy day

Service was good and the food was better. Had the pork ribs which fell off the bone. The Regina pizza, thin base, was very big and the waitron offered a box without asking. All food very well priced and there is beer on tap. Thank you!

Amazing!

A group of friends and I had lunch here everyday for almost two weeks and every meal was amazing. The gin and tonics on tap were so refreshing and the fig special was the best I ever had. Anything with pulled pork or pork belly I highly recommend. The staff was also so friendly and attentive. The best food I had in South Africa hands down.

Peppermill is top notch!

From the food, to the friends (servers) and the environment...this place checks all the boxes. We ate lunch there almost every day for two weeks and it never got old. It actually got better by everyday. I looked forward to being greeted by Claude, Sirgen, Nick, Sherry, Sheniece and any one else on staff. This crew will have you laughing in no time all while making sure everyone is taken care of and happy with their food and drinks. The hospitality was 10 out of 10 stars. They made sure to accommodate any dietary needs including offering dairy free alternatives and vegan options daily.I will be dreaming of the peanut butter coffee milkshake with soy milk that Claude made me for our last meal untIl I am able to return for another one. The owner, Nick, went above and beyond to help accommodate our large group of 14+ day in and day out - he was even kind enough to welcome us for a community Braii at the end of our stay in The Crags! Rainy pizza and lamb delight

The Lamb shank was fall off the bone delicious, pizzas were perfectly prepared. The topping is spread right to the edges. Thin crust and a delightfully strong chilli sauce if you dare that can accompany your meal. Overall a great meal and would love to return someday.

The Peppermill Cafe 😍😍

The Peppermill Cafe had great service, great food and was a great experience. They have a great selection of beer and the Gin and Tonics on tap were very refreshing. The lamb shank was life changing. I was literally a different person after eating the lab shank.

Great burger

We stopped here while visiting a nearby elephant sanctuary and the adjacent Porcupine ceramics store. The food was great, the service good. On the other hand they lost a star for not asking what currency to charge my credit card (automatically charged me in US dollars, rather than charging in South African Rand. When I asked the waiter why he did it he said he wasn't trained in the credit card machine's use.

I suppose the charm would be if you sit outside but the food quality is below average. I had the Nacho’s, the corn chips were not great and the beef had very little flavour. My husband had a burger that was served on a panini roll, less desirable for a burger. Place itself is very rustic, little bit dirty. Needs a little love.

Holiday family lunch

Ample inside and outside seating. The inside is heated by a wood burner and it provides a cozy vibe. Family ordered pizza, nachos and beers - all thin, crispy-fresh and delicious. They have regular and local beers on tap. Play area is fab for kids younger than 8 years. Unpretentious and quality food served by friendly staff. Will be back again.

Exceeding our expectations

The food was excellent, and service was great too. We were seated outside, on a beautiful day. I had the butternut salad, ( being vegetarian, was very happy to see a good selection of options for me), and my friend had the calamari and chips. We were super-impressed with our meals. Cappuccino was excellent as well.

Very good food

We went to the Pepper Mill in the Crags today. Fantastic meal. My husband had the Peri Peri Chicken. I had a Lamb Shank with delicious vegetables and mashed potatoes. The shank had been in a wood-fired oven for 8 hours overnight. Highly recommended this restaurant!!!!

Easy eating

June is a cold time of year but this Sunday the sun was shining and we decided to eat outside. The area is rustic farm style and suitable for children to play around. Staff are friendly and service is good. From a comprehensive menu we chose Roast Pork belly and Lamb shank. Did not have to wait long and received generous helping of each dish. Nice of the chef to show is face and enquire/ check on us. The meal met our expectations and can be described as nice comfort food. The meat was tender, falling off the bone and crackling done to perfection. Cost of meals not too expensive and you get value for money. Not far out of town and always worth a visit now and then.

The Best!

The food and the service was the best I have had anywhere! I was there with a group of 17 on a service trip (Sound of a Smile). We went there every day for lunch. The service was great and attentive. They knew all our names by day 2. They are friendly and professional. The owner Nick,made sure we were always satisfied. The lamb shank was the best I have EVER had (about $10 US dollars). Everything on the menu was delicious. (We ate lunch there for the 10 days we were there. Tries something different every day..except the lamb shank...had it again on our last day. Gon and tonics were so refreshing. Would HIGHLY and 100% recommend it! Sorry the pics are all flipped

This place is absolutely amazing! We visited peppermill daily while we were working in Kurland village. I had the best lamb shank of my life there and I recommend you try it if you like lamb! Also they had gin and tonics on draft that were delicious. The staff was also amazing! Super friendly and patient with our group! I definitely want to return one day and recommend anyone to go if your in the area!
