Established in 1999, Olyven Houdt Olive Farm is a picturesque gem surrounded by breathtaking scenery, situated just outside Stilbaai in the heart of the Goukou Valley. You will find the Press Room Café hidden down a long pathway through the Olive Grove. A stone building with stylish indoor and fireside dining or shaded outdoor courtyard dining (and the option of a quick game of French Boule). The Press Room Café serves a small seasonal menu of delicious and innovative cuisine, accompanied by a select wine list of locally sourced wine and boutique style liqueurs. Tastefully decorated with collectors’ pieces, antiques and furniture reflecting an old French Provence style paired with modern day conveniences, this sophisticated yet relaxed venue is well worth a visit.

We come here every time when in Stilbaai and were never disappointed. This time we booked as a group of 16 for my birthday lunch and the Press Room Café team really made us feel very special! We sat at a long table under the shades, the food was very fresh, the burgers and the pizzas are served in original tasty combinations. The cheesecake or the chocolate Lindt tart as a dessert are a winner.
Our youngsters were very happy and the grownups got spoiled by a very sweet waitress. She was discreet and yet always there to bring us more wine, food, water, ice... in short the whole team made us feel very special and the lunch was a delight. We felt like we had escaped for a few hours onto a farm in the middle of the French countryside - it was magical... Thank you all of you at the Press Room Café for making my celebration so special!

The menu is very limited but pizza was delicious.
30cm pizzas, 8 slices, R150ish - you decide value.
Super outside eating area, plenty of space between tables and guest so felt very COVID compliant.

a little unexpected breakfast & coffee search led us to this and we came back for bubbling / friendly service
I greatly enjoyed their house made craft beer
And a wow to this lovely turkish rose syrup treat they served with my breakfast

Absolutely shocked about the price of the pizza for what it was worth. R150 for a pizza that was the size of a kiddies small (at a normal restaurant) the base wasn’t even pizza base. Totally expensive for the worth of the food, we won’t be going back.

Never again! Asked for chillies, received Jalapeños, asked for freshly chopped garlic, and charged extra.
Come to CPT.. See our vibe! We'll teach you a thing or two.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon at this beautiful restaurant. They have inside and outside seating. The pizzas and cheesecake were delicious. The staff is attentive and friendly. It was a cool afternoon and we were even offered blankets.

We stopped here for a quick lunch. The salads were exceptional and are highly recommended. They also seel their local olives (very good) and ilive oil.

A great stop - fabulous poughmans platter and perfect pizza then the best white choc cheese cake closing with a brandy and espresso .

Stopped at The Press Room for lunch. They have a small but interesting Gourmet Burger menu. We had three of the four and can recommend them all. Tasty. Interesting combinations. Home made buns.
I would suggest that they light the fireplace on a chilly day. It would give more atmosphere and warmth to the small and possibly underutilized inside venue.
The outside space is spacious and sheltered.
My son loved the play area.

This is one of the consistent highlights in the Stilbaai area. All their food is good and their pizzas are quite iconic. Yesterday I had the most delicious salmon and cream cheese salad - enormous portion, but could not let a morsel go to waste. Their olive oil is outstanding - be sure to take some home.

For the past couple of years we do a lunch at The Press Room. We always regard it as a special treat. This year was a big disappointment. The size of the salad does not do justice to the price. Our food was rushed and we had to ask for cutlery etc.
