About

Allards Bistro and Pizzaria, is a lovely unique eatery. Situated and hanging over a natural spring. We offer real wood fire pizzas. Have a full bar on site. Completely separate smoking and not smoking areas. Our pizza chef, Jason, has been making real woodfire pizzas for mor than 20 years. We have a inclusive grill menu, Silance on that side has been grilling to perfection for more than 20 year

Best “skaapstertjies”

We ended in Allards by chance- our first try was full. Allards did not disappoint- the best Skaapstertjies I have ever tasted made by Silence the chef. Our mains were also great. I suggested to the very kind waitress to rather use fresh avocado in the salad. Other than that we had a good meal.

A vibe with the locals

Been a Friday evening a lot of locals where there. So, sometime you going to end up chatting and not sitting alone. Had a good plate of ribs for dinner. Must say the pizzas that I saw looked good. Net time.

Worst pizza and longest wait for it to arrive

We went to Allards and after a short wait the waitress came to take our order. She brought our drinks shortly and we placed our food order. Well we waited for 65 minutes for our food to arrive, by which time most of the other patrons had left, the pizzas were so loaded with cheese and the base was floppy, the cheese was overwhelming and stringy. The waitresses then came around shutting up windows indicating they were closing up. We had just received out pizzas. We enquired as to why they took so long to bring our order and were told it was because they had so many takeaways to deal with. I said well surely as customers who took the time to come to their restaurant our orders should have taken precedence, but there was no proper reply. The waitress was doing her best and the blame did not lie with her. after taking a few bites my husband and I abandoned efforts to plough through the pizzas, we left them, paid for them and walked out in disgust. We did mention our unhappiness with the pizzas to the Manager but he didnt give a good reason for the delay. By the way they were made it looked like they were thrown together quickly. This is definately not a place I would recommend to anyone stopping over in Colesberg, there are other restaurants in town to try.

Best pizza for miles!

Best pizza we have had in years! Mexican chilli (Mexicana?) and spicy chicken. Thin bases, delicious. Definitely will visit again! Interesting artwork on the walls. Just not so sure about the choice in music. But did not detract from the excellent pizza which tastes just as good cold for breakfast

Food could be better. Lamb chops over done but the bar does have beer on tap. Super cold and therefore the expierence was evened out

Awesome place to eat, staff very friendly. The vegies are to die for! The kids enjoyed the Pizza. The lamb stew was also delicious - tasted from my wife’s plate.
