Many dishes to choose from. Complementary foccacia and olive tapenade. Great selection of wines, reasonably priced. We had the pork belly and Norwegian salmon. Both dishes were excellent with great side dishes.
We were a large party and had the most incredible evening. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff were very helpful getting our meals out to all of us. We had starters and then shared lots of mains. The Italian sausage dish and the...lamb shank were stand outs as were the pizza's and salads. They have a great wine selection to go with your meal. It was a great evening and we will be back again soon.More
The best restaurant experience! We have been to almost all of the top restaurants in SA, including all in our so-called culinary capital, as well as Rick’s and Jamie’s in the UK, and this restaurant is without a doubt the best ever experienced. That goes...for the meals, menu, setting, atmosphere, service and owner/management involvement and commitment. It deserves 3 stars from that tire company...More
We go to La Lampara every time we in the Midlands. Service is great, food delicious and owners so welcoming and friendly. We often think to try out other places but always go back to La Lampara. Their desserts are made daily and so delicious!...Can’t wait for our next visit.More
The restaurant is in a beautiful setting and I've been wanting to visit for many years now, and with a 1 year wedding anniversary to celebrate, we had a reason to finally spoil ourselves. The ambiance is pleasant and the waitresses very sweet. We had...two pasta dishes: duck linguine and pasta vongole. Both were very plain and mediocre dishes.
My wife only found two tiny pieces of duck in her linguine. The pieces of clam were also minuscule. She ordered a glass of house wine, a very cheap variety found in all retail stores, and she recieved HALF a glass of wine. The cost of the HALF a glass of wine was R49! With the tip the meal cost close to R600. We will never return.
Honestly, visitors to the KZN Midlands should rather go to Il Postino, Bierfassel or Little Mozambique for excellent food at fair prices.More
This place came recommend from friends that had been there so we booked. The setting is beautiful in the heart of the Midlands. Food was great and owners are lovely hosts. The desserts were super fresh and tasty. We had the chocolate fondant and peppermint...tart two nights in a row. Would recommend if I’m the areaMore
We were already in awe as we drove down to the restaurant amongst the grand old trees
A quaint and character La Lampara restaurant building awaited us at the bottom of the drive. A warm welcome from the staff and we were seated. The service...was attentive and professional. The food was magnificent and the choice of wines was classic and classy. I was so impressed with La Lampara... Wow!More
Took a little trip to Italy with this beautiful place. The drive to the restaurant was so beautiful and we had a gorgeous view of a rose garden from our table. Unfortunately could not sit outside due to the weather but the inside was cozy...and charming. Food was amazing. Service was great. I would definitely like to see more halal or halal friendly options though. That is the only reason for my 4 star rating instead of 5.More
A really beautifull spot in the KZN Midlands. Lovely spot for photos. The food was really outstanding!
The complementary focacia with olive paste a nice touch. Sevice was impeccable.
Pricing is a little higher than most other places. However the ambiance, position and crisp white...table cloths make up for a truly wonderfull experience.
Recommend the Spagetti Vongole; the starter of lighltly crumbed Artichoke in a blue cheese sauce with shavings of parmesan; the wood fired chicken
apparently the Best !! that was ever tasted!!More
