This spot will not necessarily wow you with decor but the food will definitely. We have had numerous dinners here and done takeaways and it never disappoints. It’s family run and the owners are always here so the food is great and good value for...money . Our favourites are the spicy flaming chorizo ; grilled and fried calamari and the garlic sweet potatoe bread for starters . Do not overeat here or you won’t mange the mains . You must do the whole peri peri chicken it’s outstanding, plus their whole fish and espetadas are a must . We have never managed dessert as we are way too full .More
Absolutely SPECTACULAR lunch at Caramba in Sea Point! Food was outstanding! Service was spot on! Ambience was simply delightful! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!
We had the Prawns, calamari , and the Grilled Chicken. They were all outstanding !!!! Will definitely be back soon.
We visited the Caramba restaurant. I really liked it. Helpful and kind staff. Great place for lunch and dinner! I advise everyone!
Our very first time and certainly not our last. There were 3 of us, we decided to share the starters and if we needed more food then decide on a main. We had calamari tentacles, bolo do caco (sweet potato bread), milho frito( corn fritters)....If you eat bread then it's a must to try. My husband decided on a main and he had the Portuguese steak. He claims the best he's had in a very long time . It's a family run restaurant and the wife is the chef. An over great meal and experience.More
Wow Wow Wow Being a Mozambique Portuguese living in CT we thrive for our traditional food and we found it at Caramba. From the warm welcome from the Owners and The cutest Toy Pom and their amazing food, we knew our traditions are not very...far. WELL DONE.More
My husband ordered sardines, which were delicious and well presented. I had ordered 1/2 chicken with chips. Being Portuguese and cooking portuguese food on a daily basis, I was utterly disappointed. The chicken was not cooked through properly. I sent it back and it returned...the same. I was not satisfied with this meal and was told that the chicken was red on the inside because of the marinade. The marinade was all poured over the chicken and the redness was was due to being partially raw. I was still charged for the meal and not even an apology was offered. I did not want to make a scene but it was definitely the first and last time!More
Caramba is our favorite Portugues restaurant. The restaurant is small so we suggest one books ahead of time. They serve a variety of delicious Portugues dishes also stock a small collection of Portugues wines and Mault (Sagres)
always warm, friendly and accommodating....and the food!!!! well the food has to be experienced first hand...talking about hands, this mama can cook! from scratch, while you are waited on by one or two of the family members. my family and I have had many of...the menu choices and often share starters and mains so we cant get our grubby hands in!! Dont go if you are in a rush or you are expecting yuppy service ...its homely and welcome with really great food. I have never had a problem with booking. the restaurant is small, so book if you want to be accommodated. #savecaramba I cant wait to return!!! Coming for you Chicken and lickin my fingers!More
