Cushty Neighbourhood Deli – A Hidden Gem in Green Point I can’t get enough of this spot! Tucked away in a little street in Green Point, Cushty has such a warm and homely neighborhood vibe. It’s small and quaint, perfect whether you’re catching up with a friend or working on your laptop. They’ve got inside and outside seating, and everyone here is so friendly. It truly feels like a hidden gem. Now, let’s talk coffee. My go to, a flat white with almond milk, was absolutely perfect. The beans were delicious, and the coffee was smooth and well made. Definitely one of the better coffees in Cape Town. As for the food, I’ve tried quite a bit over my visits, from breakfast options to their sandwiches and even their daily lunch specials. The lunch menu changes daily and includes a protein (like their chicken schnitzel, which is to die for, or their amazing fish cakes) alongside fresh salads. Just a heads up, these specials are limited, so it’s best to arrive earlier. Most recently, I had the Eggs Royale (poached eggs, smoked salmon trout, English muffin, baby spinach, and hollandaise sauce), and let me tell you, it was hands down the best Eggs Royale I’ve ever had. I’m not even exaggerating. The English muffin was soft and slightly sweet, with perfectly crisp edges. The poached eggs were absolute perfection, with silky, rich yolks. And the hollandaise? Wow. Smooth, creamy, balanced. It was just perfection. The smoked salmon was super fresh, and everything came together in such a way that I didn’t even need to reach for the salt. I’ll definitely be back. The vibe here is so laid back and inviting, and the food and coffee are consistently top notch. If you’re in Green Point, do yourself a favour and check out this little spot. You won’t regret it!

I was looking for a dessert to eat in Green point area, and fell on this quaint little neighbourhood coffee shop. I had already eaten lunch when I visited, so couldn't try any of the fresh salads available there, but had a bread and butter pudding instead. I'll be back to try more...

This place is an aboslute gem. Roy (the owner from East London hence the name Cushty) and his staff have turned this place in to one of Cape Towns legendary eating houses. From great classy breakfasts, to rejuvenating juices, vegan and veggie dishes to great lasagnas all served with the utmost style and taste that you'd find in a top class hotel or restaurant. All the food and drinks in this fine place are worth tasting. You wont be dissapointed. Roy also sells some great produce that he uses for the cooking in here also. A great little deli.

I accidentally went to this little neighborhood cafe on a very quiet street in Green Point. You can meet regulars as well as tourists traveling. The place is medium sized but very cozy, it feels good. A good place to have breakfast, good coffee and croissants, although not exceptional, are quite acceptable.

Cushty’s is my go to neighborhood spot. Great coffee, amazing artisanal produce, quality banter from Roy and the best poached eggs on the Atlantic seaboard. A must visit when passing through Green Point!

We were staying at a nearby hotel and saw the sign from Main Road. Breakfasts and coffees were great, much better than the hotel options. Banana bread perfect for walk up table mountain, muffins excellent. Lunch really good too - fish cakes, pulled pork sandwich and pastrami sandwich all great - with nice sides. Super local place.

Discovered this place in the heart of Green Point. Thought i would give it a try. Coffee was really good but had to endure the owners screaming child. It was non stop while trying to enjoy my coffee in this peaceful neighbourhood. I couldnt put myself thru the agony of having lunch as I left quite Custhys.s quite distressed!!

A hidden gem just off the main road in Green Point. We heard about this place from a note in a visitors book and what a find. The owner (Roy I think) was welcoming and gave it a friendly neighborhood feel. Quite unusual these days. Look it up on your phone and visit for a lovely breakfast in a friendly atmosphere. Support Cushty’s!

Sampled a few different breakfasts and all were excellent! Food was nutritious and filling! Coffee was excellent but needed to be in bigger mugs! Would definitely recommend and will go back for sure! The lunches looked amazing!

I loved this local neighbourhood deli in a quiet and upmarket part of Cape Town (Green Point). I walked there for breakfast with family and then escaped there for an early morning coffee the next day. Delicious Eggs Benedict!!! Very friendly too :-)
