We had a very pleasant meal here served by very attentive staff. Very quaint dining room in the hotel. Would have been great to site in the terrace in summer.

We were very impressed with the delicious food and great attentive service. Wonderful cosy spot for dinner or drinks with a genuine historical feel. We could not get enough of the Stilton salad and Malay lamb which are a must! Highly recommended

This is definitely my favorite restaurant in Riebeek kasteel. They were out of pork belly and lamb on our visit so I had the chicken - it was fantastic! My husband had steak and he was impressed too. Service was attentive , white linen , fire a bottle of wine made for a perfect evening.

Description
Simplicity, imagination and quality of produce are key at The Royal. Head chef Francois du Toit (La Colombe, Manna Epicure) believes that food should be honest. If you say tomato it must taste like tomato, if you say fillet you should get the best our country has to offer. This philosophy together with the use of modern equipment (such as the use of Sous-Vide and Pacojet) results in creative but unpretentious dishes with "taste" as main ingredient.
