Nice atmosphere, good food and amazing views over the bay. I had the battered hake and chips. Will go for that again. Calamari was also very good.

Ben's is a possibly under discovered gem in the Strand, Western Cape. Situated on the beachfront, book a window table for the excellent view. The decor is welcoming and provides an excellent environment for enjoying friendly service and a value for money menu. Still the same fabulous good quality food at reasonable prices. We have been away for 5 years. Bens has not changed. I had old fashioned “ skillpadjies” lovely. My husband had ostrich carpaccio- loved it. He had a fillet steak . Cooked to perfection. I...had tongue- the best I’ve ever had, tender and so tasty. Served with a beautiful sauce and baby potatoes. We had a fantastic experience at Bens. I took their recommendation and tried a "Wing Rib" with Old Man Mustard Sauce. Absolutely Delicious. My partner had Grilled Fresh Linefish and she loved it. It was a cold but sunny day and the restaurant was kept...warm and cosy due to lots of heaters. The decor was modern and homely. The view of the ocean was the cherry on the top. In March 2022 we dined at Ben's on the Beach on two occasions. The atmosphere is great, the staff friendly, and the cuisine excellent regardless of what you order. This is not a cheap restaurant, but it is worth visiting for that special dinner.

Zanzibar Peri Peri chicken was a huge portion but not the Peri Peri we are used to , was hot with no flavour, would definitely not recommend it, The lamb curry was ok , very bland. The ribs were good as was the sirloin. Food...: 6/10 Service: 8/10 Ambiance: 5/10More

Been to this restaurant several times before. This was my first visit after lock down was lifted. Menu changed, very standard choices. Ordered salad for starter, tasteless vinaigrette, very salty ingredients. Ordered fillet steak, the worst ever. Never again

While visiting our friends in Gordons Bay over the weekend, we decided to have dinner at Ben's (02.10.210) a treat we always look forward to when in the area. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding as well! Some of us ordered the...Schnitzel, while others selected the Mauritian Seafood Casserole, Tongue and my grandson ordered a Cheese Burger (which he usually doesn't finish, but devoured this one!) Our waitress, Shene was very efficient and friendly. Our friends told us about the Curry Special on Wednesdays, and as we were only leaving to go home on Thursday we decided to go back to Bens. Once again, Bens did not disappoint.....It was delicious, Curry & Rice, Roti, condiments, and a glass of wine included. Thanx Roshan and Michelle (very efficient manageress). We will definitely return on our next trip to Gordons Bay, keep up the good work.More
