Stopped by to pick up some lunch to take home. Ordered a green curry and a noodle stir fry, both very tasty and well prepared. Authentic dishes prepared by overseas Thai chef.

Food is sensational! My spicy green curry was extraordinary! The homemade spring rolls are great, too! Just keep in mind: the restaurant only offers take-away food!! It's purely a take-away and the restaurant closes at 6pm! (not at 7pm as stated here). The owner and his wife are so friendly and prices are decent! When in town, you must try this place!

We arrived after the restaurant’s seating hours but the owner was most accommodating in preparing food for us to take back to our guest house. It was a fine break from the country’s typical foods. We really enjoyed the soup, stir fry, and curry but especially talking with the owner, who could not have been nicer. We recommend a visit to this restaurant. Ate take out two nights in a row.

Mr Pillay has done an amazing job in transforming his Thai Spa business into a Thai Restaurant business. As someone who travels around South East Asia including Thailand, I can vouchsafe the authenticity of this restaurant's Asian cuisine.
Most customers seem to order takeaways and not sit down for lunch or dinner. For my birthday recently I wanted to invite family and close friends to visit the Thai Asian Cafe, however, the owner gives the impression that he was uncomfortable with large numbers of guests. Because I know the quality of the food, I still placed a large order for takeaways and we enjoyed the food at my house. However, I still would have preferred to sit down in the small section at the back of the restaurant.

Thank you for your favourable response to the quality and authentic Thai cuisine you and your family enjoyed. We at Thai Asian Café continually strive to outperform our service offering to make our customers happy and to ensure that the Thai cuisine is always fresh and at its best taste.
The reason for only offering lunch and no longer dinner in the dining area is due to the concern for the safety of our patrons at night and that our staff cannot work late as they live a distant from work.

This hidden gem is definitely worth the drive from PE. The food is really amazing, and the service is exceptional. It seems to mainly operate as a take-away, but there is a sit-down dining area tucked away on the back patio that is very beautiful and calm, an unexpected little oasis from main road Uitenhage! It is decorated with authentic decor from Thailand. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, and eager to give a great dining experience. The food was absolutely fantastic, can't recommend it highly enough!

The food at this cafe is great. I would rate it the best in the town, much better than established places in town. But sadly, the cafe is no place for having a meal in the evening. We had to take the food to our hotel room.

What a refreshing experience! Personal customer service, good value for money and excellent food. Truly world class, authentic Thai food! Owned and operated by a husband and wife team.
A wonderful break from the hum-drum, predictable food most places have to offer in Uitenhage. An absolute gem. Do yourself a favor and try some... You'll be back for more. I know we will!

Not to worry about anything. the front of the shop is small but please make sure you go for the sitdown. the back of the restaurant is awesome. intimate and very relaxing. The food are very good and love the service

As a change of atmosphere we decided to have our year end lunch at this Restaurant. Although, it is a small restaurant that can cater for up to 20 people, the food is excellent, freshly prepared with fresh ingredients and the place is clean and spotless. We had a variety of foods (+/- 10 dishes) and every dish was loved by everyone. it was soo good that all the staff that went there are now regular patrons. i have a group of friends visiting - this place is my first choice and I could take the worst critic here with confidence. The owner and his wife who is the chef are friendly and accomodating and the experience and rustic atmosphere is great.

When I saw the front of the restaurant was a shop, I was a bit put off.
But no need to worry
The food is exceptional. They have a three star rating from *mild **medium ***hot.
Mild is hot but less heat than madras.
You can have even hotter on request but for me its all about flavor.
The green prawn curry I had was delicious.
The owner is extremely pleasant and his wife: the chef is wonderful.
He is very helpful and is delighted by the pleasure his food brings other people.
The restaurant is extremely clean and tidy and you can see underneath the kitchen appliances. Spotless doesn't do it justice. They only buy the very best ingredients.
I enjoyed my meal so much I went back the next day for lunch. The Wontons were excellent.
If Rick Stein reads this please go there you would love it.
I have visited over 40 countries and I have not seen a better small restaurant, please try it
