The Wickedfood Earth gourmet picnic and nature walk was an incredible experience I'm so glad we took advantage of on Women's Day. With the COVID-19 lockdown, I really look forward to the opportunity to get out of my neighbourhood, see friends and be outdoors during...the weekend but you still have anxiety about the virus at the back of your mind. I was so happy to see that all protocols were followed at WickedFood Earth. The fact that you have to book and bookings are only confirmed once you pay means that there aren't tons of people at the farm at the same time. You do see a few people on the walk but for the most part your group seems to be alone and you can enjoy the peace and quiet and idyllic atmosphere. The picnic spots are assigned ahead of time and are spaced far from each other and set in their own little clearings so you wouldn't even know there are other people around. Please note: The nature walk is not a hike, it's more of a meander through the farm with lovely views and is clearly marked but you will not get a hiking experience from this. The picnic itself was absolutely delicious! Fluffy, soft pita breads, tangy chutneys and dips, gorgeous little baby beetroots, a pork liver pate and a yummy quiche. The highlight for me was the incredible cured meat selection. The head brawn was absolutely divine! I could have eaten just that alone! The picnic also comes with a little dessert, for us it was a yoghurt pannacotta which was light and delicious. You can bring your own drinks, cutlery and crockery. One thing that I think could be improved upon is just to greet guests when they arrive and explain the trail and picnic set up ahead of time. We were a bit confused when we got there about where to go/what to do. And proceeded to do the walk so by the time we returned to fetch out picnic we didn't really want to walk back to the picnic site which would have entailed us doing the trail again. if we had known we would maybe have planned ourselves better. But apart from that we felt very welcome, safe and taken care of at Wickedfood Earth.More

It was great to have a day outdoors with good food and company. The picnic was excellent, the hike was more a walk around the farm than a hike but still good to be outside and get some exercise.More

We are regulars at WickedFood Earth's Mezza lunches, and they are always exceptional. It's one of our favourite things to do on a Sunday. Plate after plate of unusual dishes, freshly made with homegrown ingredients and served in abundance, are a real treat for the...taste buds! Very importantly for us, WickedFood is the epitome of ethical and sustainable farming - and you can really taste the difference. Cilla and Mike are friendly hosts, always willing to talk about the farm and their produce - and you can buy the best quality meat and other wonderful treats to take home.More
