Great pizzolo

This is probably the best place to eat pizzolo, a local dish. I've been there countless times and even now that I don't live in Italy anymore, every time I visit Sicily I go to eat there at least once! Everything is really great. Great...food, good portions, reasonable price! The staff is also very friendly, albeit very busy (not sure if they speak English, though, as this is a place "for locals"). Don't expect anything fancy in terms of towels and the like, that part is relatively basic but food is king here. The only downside is that everyone knows how good this place is, so it's often packed, especially during the weekend. It's highly recommended, then, to book in advance. Even then, you might have to wait, but certainly for a shorter time.More

You have to know its there to find it but it is worth the visit

A local specialty pizzeria....know for their Pizzolos a pizza with a top and bottom crust but not a calzone...and baked. the Eggplant one was excellent and we enjoyed the prochutto Crudo one as well. For desert there is the Nuttella Pizzolo.....ok no low cal dining...in Sicily. Worth the visit if you are staying in Catania or Siracuse. The views are beautiful. The roads are good to get here it is the last 1000 feet of road that are the most diffiucult but the rest was east even though twisty.More

UNDERWHELMING

The pizzoli were ok but laden with cheese and scarce of the more flavoursome ingredients such as sasauge. Even the cold meats in the pizzoli were cheap and heavily processed. DO NOT order the pistachio dessert pizzoli. It had no pistachio at all, tasted only...of almond essence and had so much sugar and artificial green colour in it that it stained our teeth and fingers. This was the greatest letdown as pistachio products are generally of a much higher quality in Sicily. The night did have it's highlights though. We were greeted and escorted by a friendly ginger kitten upon our arrival and departure. All it wanted in return was a pat on the tummy!More

Best pizzas ever!

Lovely pizzeria which is packed solid even on weekdays. We went more than once as their pizzas are out of this world and they have such an extensive menu that deciding what to have is a major chore!! They also serve "pizzolos" which is pizza...dough on top and bottom with the filling in between - just divine! They also serve pizzolos as dessert too. Oh and their antipasti are to die for! A genuine Sicilian pizza experience!More
