Very favorite stop en route on N3. The breakfast was good, had no brown bread. Too little butter for bread. The slices too thick. The best pies you can get and good cappuccinos. Service also good.

We have reviewed here before and stopped here again on the route between Johannesburg and Durban. 3 meals, differing standards. The all-day Farmhouse Breakfast was excellent as before, looks a bit pricey but the size makes up for the price. The Bunny Chow was good...but not quite a good Durban Curry as advertised. The vegetarian Bean curry was watery and not up their usual standard.More

My wife and I went to eat there on our road trip and the place looked cute with good food. Unfortunately we had one of the worst service experiences I have ever seen. Every time I ordered an item, I was told, after 10 minutes...each time, that they had just run out. Finally they forgot to place our order at all and 45 minutes after sitting down, they were going to make our pie and burger order then! Not even an apology from the manager so we got up and left. Left hungry and completely disappointedMore

We stopped over for a Brunch at the Food Shed part. We were promptly seated with a menu in the hand..... and that was it. Waitrons were standing around talking and serving tables. A table seated after us had already had their coffee and were...standing up to leave...and there we sat. Eventually we HAD TO ASK TO BE SERVED. Well, that was also a mistake. My hamburger stood on ther counter and after two 'bell rings' the waiter eventually went to fetch it. It was half cold and I asked them to please warm it in the Microwave. I was at this point still waiting for the side salad. Half way through the 'new' hamburger (they replaced it within about 10 minutes this time round) the salad arrives..duhh!More

We stopped over going to and from our our holiday destination. Service was fast and friendly both times. The pies were delicious with generous fillings. The pepper steak, cornish and chicken and mushroom also equally good. Fabulous cappuccinos, even the decaffeinated one that can sometimes...taste bland. They also have plain and chocolate croissants and baked goodies for the road. Clean toilets and outside seating for a quick wolfing down. Extremely Covid-19 safety conscious. Modern and neat interior. Quite busy both times, so if you are more than one, fill up the car whilst the other person orders and pays.More

What a gem. Best Covid-initiative if seen so far (check out the picture on how to keep the cutlery hygienic). Our waiter and the manager/s were very attentive, friendly, very polite and absolutely customer service orientated. The food was delicious, generous portions, and (as promised...on the signage on route) fast.More

Stopped on Wednesday late afternoon, before Heritage day. Thought we'd support local for dinner. Only had standard pies available at the ridiculous price of R37-00 a pie!! Exhorbitant pricing is ridiculous and chases the locals away. Will definately not be supporting The Windmills again.

Just as busy as the petroport at Harrismith. The toilets are clean but busy. Long queues for everything in the fancy farm style food court.
