Plumbago is only open for dinner on Friday evenings. We invited friends to join us for dinner. We were four people and we were seated in a cosy corner. Service was friendly and efficient and she (the waitress) visited our table just enough to be...attentive but not a nuisance. Limited wine list and menu but the food was good, well prepared and more than enough. My only complaint: the waitress presented the bill on a tablet and mentioned the amount in front of our guests. A old fashioned paper bill will work better.More

Plumbago is a restaurant surrounded by other quaint shops in a natural and peaceful setting. Great for coffees, lunches, meetings or just taking a break.

This café suprized us with their delicious food and friendly service. We were a big group with 2 small kids and they went out of their way to impress us. The pizza, savoury pancakes, toasted sandwiches, hamburgers and even sweet sugar pancakes were all tasty...and well presented. Thank you Morné and team!More

An easy place to enjoy a lunch. I had a nice salad and my friends enjoyed the hamburgers. Good plain food at a reasonable price.

The pancakes are excellent. I would rather go to small and quaint than a chain brand. We sat outside in the courtyard -ugly parking lot

Popped in for a quick something to eat and we were pleasantly surprised. We did visit early morning and saw the breakfast offerings was a little limited, but the toasted sandwich was very good, the pan cakes like grandma made them and the bacon and...egg burger was really delicious. Coffee was good. Service friendly and we were helped quickly. Great little place.More

Approx 2 hour’s from JHB this little coffee shop is the perfect place to stop with children to have a break for coffee / breakfast / lunch on your way to your holiday destination. Our 4th visit here and the place has never disappointed -...now with new menus, outside furniture and even a mini kiddies play area.More

Plumbago offers good food and coffee at reasonable prices. Smallish but adequate menu offers some tasty possibilities. Some of the smaller rooms can get very noisy if the shop gets busy. Tables outside are available, weather permitting.

This was a great find. Good quality "real" food and atmosphere. This is more of a coffee shop but there are enough options on the menu to cater for most tastes. Would definitely return when in Kroonstad again.

This little coffee shop is a Gem!! Don't expect much in terms of decor but when it comes to a good morning coffee and a breakfast pancake, it scored high in my book

The venue is beautiful. It is an old house that has been converted and the decor and furnishings are well done. I had Bacon & Egg burger and my wife had a toasted Bacon, Egg & Cheese sandwich. The food was very good. Nothing is...rushed, but that is what I expect from a place like this in the country.More
