On a day out to Parys, we stopped for lunch? and braved the steep stair case to our out door table. One of us is lactose, gluten, and glucose intolerant, and a vegetarian too. The chef came out and personally created a salad meal from...scratch, which was divine. The rest of us had the risotto, which was delicious. Dessert was an enormous bowl containing a vanilla bean ice cream incased in a mirage with berries and fruit source. Service was excellent. Going back there sometime soon.More
The food ,atmosphere, service from the manager to the waitress was exceptional.a bit pricey but absolute value for money have been going there for years will go there untill I cant climb the stairs anymore😁😁
Great Quaint place in the middle of Parys. Breakfast was good. Kids enjoyed the berry waffles and adults that had the muesli said it was aweome. We all agreed to come back another day and have a dinner there as the Food menu is tantalizing...and the craft beer selection is huge.More
The lamb curry was horrible along with undercooked basmati rice. And there prices are ridiculously expensive. I highly don’t recommend. However the restaurant is beautiful and vintage!
Interesting old world place. We decided to brave the steep steps and sit upstairs. We all enjoyed our breakfasts and the ladies enjoyed the strawberry and sparkling wine combo. Coffee and milkshakes were good. will be going back to sample the endless list of imported...and craft beers on offer and possible a lunch or dinner meal.More
I had a very lekker burger and a perfect creme brulee. Ill be back to try some of the fine dine dishes
Lovely place, very steep steps in the front, not accessible friendly. Old items all over the restaurant, food very tasty but find it expensive for the amount of food served. Lovely atmosphere
We came here before driving to potch. We ordered a breakfast, that is all they served before 12:00. The breakfast was R100 and the food was cold and so little. They are extremely expensive and definitely not worth it.
We visited this restaurant on a cold and rainy day and had the best time, despite the weather! The decor and atmosphere was great and the food was superb. Try the truffle mushroom risotto. Excellent selection of wines and beers to choose from! Service was...also really good.More
Was a disappointing breakfast to say the least. They only had instant coffee yet offer R2400 caviar on the menu. My girlfriends poached eggs were completely over done and the waitress preceded to argue that they weren't and was reluctant to take them back to...the kitchen and so we just left it. The sausages on our breakfast also were crusty and over cooked. The toilets also all weren't working so that didn't help the overall experience either.More
Downstairs, next to their main restaurant just off the road, the Hoi Polloi has a small informal sit down craft brewery with mostly snack type food offered. Seems it uses the same kitchen as Hoi Polloi, but waiters and menu are separate. Never having been...there before, we took a chance last weekend and had a couple of beers and nice glass of wine, enjoyed with German sausages and a gourmet hotdog. Service was good, beer selection interesting and cold, and the snack food menu was especially nice and reasonably priced. Nice informal vibe with good selection of local craft beers and highly recommended for a snacky type meal. We will be back.More
Absolutely fabulous. From the moment you walk up the crazy stairs you are in awe of the decor and the quirky atmosphere. As a foodie who has always wanted to visit this restaurant, I was so in awe from beginning to end. Salinah, our waitress,...had the most amazing sense of humour and made us feel like we were the only patrons in the restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The seafood bisque even had a lobster tail. I can’t wait to visit againMore
Food and brewery were amazing and service was great. Only thing it was very unpleasant to hear how the manager started conflict with one of the staff, but other than that I will recommend visiting the restaurant and brewery.
Food, presentation, service and creative drinks are great! You have a nice view of street activities and shops from a wooden deck.
