My wife and I dined here 4 of 6 nights during our recent stay at Nayara Springs. Restaurant has it all in terms of ambiance, live entertainment, and refined international cuisine. Although I mostly opted for their fresh fish and seafood dishes, I was most impressed with their preparation of mushroom risotto - some of the best I had anywhere. The highlight of the evening was the preparation, presentation, and taste of the Costa Rican coffee flambe' made with Costa Rican coffee liqueur and Costa Rican rum. The fire display was amazing and the coffee drink was delicious.

We ate at Amor Loco during our stay at Nayara Gardens. Our server Kelvin was simply amazing. He knew all of my partner’s dietary preferences, recommended amazing dishes and wine, and knew what we wanted before we did.
In addition, the restaurant has a very cool decor and we had the pleasure of seeing a live musical performance from a singer-guitarist, Jackson. He was fantastic.
Every item of food was great, but I would specifically recommend the beef short rib and the marlin carpaccio. We will definitely eat here again when we go back to Nayara.
Thanks to Kelvin for all his excellent service :)

This is a bold statement, but I mean it:: This is my favorite restaurant I’ve ever been to.
The hostess up front, Alejandra was an absolute joy. I could have chatted with her for hours, she made you feel welcome from the very start. (I would hire her at any of my restaurants tomorrow!) Jose, the manager, was also at the front welcoming guests (I went 4 times in a 7 day stay) and checked on my dining experience multiple times.
The servers, Kelvin and Ever were on top of everything from start to finish. You can tell they really enjoy their job which makes it easy to trust their opinions. I don’t drink but the bartender, Josue was amazing at making unique and delicious mock tails at each visit.
As for the food, I’m not sure where to start. I had a few salads and each was delicious. All of the veggies were super fresh and the dressings paired perfectly. The chef made a different sashimi dish each night and they just kept getting better. He also hand delivered many of the dishes and you could tell how important the quality was to him. By the time it came for dessert, I let the staff choose for me. The house banana spilt was my fave.
I can’t wait to come back to this resort and I have no doubt that I will eat at this restaurant the majority of the evenings. Thank you guys for making my stay even more perfect!
**Different live music each night that was awesome**

I dined here twice during my stay, both times did the chefs tasting menu. The food was excellence and paired with great wines! The atmosphere makes the dining experience unique, first time we dinned outside by the pool and second inside. If you dine here once request to sit inside plus they usually have someone signing or playing live music.

The interior room is beautiful, eclectic, and elegant and the outside seating by the pool is very special. We loved the creative vegan menu and our traveling companions enjoyed more traditional specialties. The service was great. The music perfect. The wine exceptional.

Maybe it was my choice - but I thought my meal was only average.
The setting is magnificent as we sat outside overlooking the adult-only pool. Food offerings are local and traditional and I selected the fish tacos. What I received was fine but nothing special. With so many food choices at the resort, I'd suggest trying other options.

Food was mostly bad, ambiance was excellent, staff was excellent, 1 star because this place needs a lower rating, maybe 2.5 out of 5 tho in reality. We regret going to amor loco $500 for 2 people after tax/fee. 2 people, 2 wine glasses, 2 bottles of still water(ask for tap they won’t offer) and 2 $160 meals for $500

If you are into fine dining Amore Loco is a great option. Amore Loco is a romantic dinner option at the Nayara resorts as the name roughly translates to "Crazy Love." The concept is to take the guest through a culinary journey across the different provinces of Costa Rica. You can also do a wine pairing to enhance the experience. I do want to emphasize that this is a fine dining experience, soooooo.....the cost can be quite expensive. If you have never experienced fine dining this may also stretch your pallet a bit. I personally don't have an extensive pallet. So there were some things on the menu that were hard for me. There were others that I could have eaten a whole plate. For example there was what I believe to be chicken croquette in cilantro sauce that I could have made a whole meal.
If you are someone who has never had a fine dining experience, it is something I recommend to do at least once even if you don't have the most sophisticated pallet. The most important thing is to be as open as possible and try new things. If you are someone, however, who is open to a wide range of different flavors and are inquisitive to where food and wine is being sourced and explanation of how each dish comes together this would be the experience for you.

We went to this spot for the seven-course tasting menu and wine pairing.
The chef is something special. The meal was truly wonderful, with Costa Rican -inspired food prepared in the manner of a fine dining establishment. The chef clearly has training in continental cooking. The wine-pairings were also quite wonderful.
The bread was wonderful, with bits of bitter chocolate. Most of the courses had two main components, with the taste of the two main components playing off one another. There was also a talented guitarist providing a lovely instrumental background. If you are staying at this resort, I highly recommend that you make the time and financial commitment to dinner at this restaurant.
We couldn't help but wish that he had a chance to share his gifts with more people. The restaurant offered only the tasting menus, which of course requires a commitment from the diners. Also, the decor was a bit like a 60's movie. If management updated the decor and allowed diners choices other than one of the tasting menus, many more people would be likely to sample the chef's creations.

Nice ambience but food was not tasty . Menu is set and created based in local ingredients which all should be of great quality being in approximately of so many farms … I would rate food 5 out 10 . Just a very average dining experience and hence 120$ per person is overpriced ! Please try other amazing restaurants in this resort .

This is the fine dinning option on what is an absolutely fabulous resort and like everything else here it delivers in spades. In my mind what really does set it apart from other fine dinning restaurants is the team front of house under manager William. To say our dinning requirements are fairly unique is an understatement, however, no matter how challenging they are, we were provided with a fantastic plates of food by the chef and his team, expertly described and delivered by our ever smiling waitress Luce. A special mention is also deserved by the Sommelier Leo. His story is inspirational and almost matches his enthusiasm for a subject he truly loves. Well done all. It’s a long flight to get here, but I would definitely take it to stay in this resort and eat at this restaurant once again.

We went to amor loca on our last night at Nayara resort. The two previous nights we ate at Ayla within the same resort. This was our 40th. Anniversary so we decided to spend it at the restaurant presumably the best at the resort. We ordered the chef menu.
The first plate was a green salad with small slivers of burrata cheese. It was ok but nothing to remember.
The second plate was a lobster bisque. It was to salty otherwise ok.
The third plate was corvina fish with a mole sauce. The fish was perfect. The mole was burnt.
The dessert was presumably a pavlova with slivers of old merengue. The only good think about it was the presentation with a rose frozen on liquid nitrogen.
The wine list did not contain the year of the wine so it was impossible to select the best wines.
In summary a want a be fine dinning restaurant at Nayara. The price was the only true fine dining. It was 4 times the price of dining at Ayla their new Mediterranean restaurant at the resort. This restaurant with an Israeli chef was superb.
Their is two things I have to give credit to the restaurant: the ambiance with the decoration and music and the service. Both were 10/10

The atmosphere is unique and the service was great. Also, the food was good. However, the reason it didn't get 4 stars is the result of two things.
First, while the food was good, it wasn't memorable. It's been almost 2 weeks since we went and I had to look back at the dinner menu to recall what I ate. Second was the entertainment. There was a guy playing a guitar which, when we arrived, he was playing a nice song. The problem is for the rest of the time, he kept stopping the lyrical part of the song and instead, played the mouth flute (meaning he used his lips so it sounded like a kazoo, a high pitched kazoo). And this wasn't one song. It was in almost all of the songs until he finished his set. I'm sorry to be a jerk about this, but a kazoo at an intimate dinner setting didn't match the atmosphere and didn't sound good to us.
While we enjoyed our evening overall, we didn't think it was the best that Nayara offered.

We had the seven course tasting menu with wine pairing. Luz, our server, was delightful and enjoyed the challenge of pairing red wines with a vegetarian meal. The wines were stunning and the meal delightful. Amazing vegetarian tasting menu that stays away from pasta and salad! William the manager was so attentive to our needs. An outstanding meal served in the middle of a jungle! If you have a chance, go for it.
