Beautiful ambiance and excellent menu. Plenty of choice and superb quality. Lamb shank outstanding. Also the grilled calamari. My husband was happy with the vegetarian options.

Tebaldis Restaurant is set in an ideal location in the very heart of the peaceful village of McGregor, overlooking Voortrekker Street to the front and beautiful landscaped gardens to the rear. It resembles a traditional English country pub, complete with thatched roof and beamed ceilings,...but with a definite southern Mediterranean twist, and all under a hot African sun. We took preprandial drinks in the shaded front garden, watching the sun set over the Little Karoo, and then retreated to the garden terrace for dinner. This really is a stunning location, overlooking a walled garden complete with preening peacocks and a well manicured lawn. The bucolic setting, simple yet comfortable furnishings, quirky objets d'art and recherche soundtrack conjured up a mythical lost age of pre-war innocence. I half expected to see Virginia Wolf and Duncan Grant dining at the next table and Noel Coward reclining in a canvas deck chair on the lawn reciting doggerel. This wonderful ambience was capped by an excellent two-course dinner accompanied by crisp McGreggor wines. This is fine dining, but without attitude or pretence. I had a lamb shank while my wife chose steak - simple dishes, very well cooked and garnished, and attractively presented. The service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Finally, we must thank the restaurant's managers, Quinton and Daryl, whose charm, warmth, wit and generosity, elevated an already exquisite experience to an even higher level. This is a restaurant that feeds the body and the heart and soul. We shall probably never have the chance to return there, but we shall never forget the experience. In case you have not already guessed, we recommend this restaurant unreservedly.More
great setting with 3 different areas to sit in for a meal....a beautiful shaded front garden overlooking the main drag (it's very quiet so you won't even notice it), the indoor dining room and a back garden patio overlooking stunning gardens with peacocks strutting their...stuff...heavenly. The food is OK but not outstanding...having said that my companion thought the beer battered fish and chubby chips was really good.....not a lot of options in McGregor so most definitely worth a tryMore
This small bistro cafe is the best of McGregor set in an historic building with pretty gardens. The host greeted us warmly and service was swift - although breakfast has a cut off point. Good range of beverages and reasonable menu. Wifi available if limited...reach.More
This restaurant with its 'Old house' charm, was a lovely surprise! It looked appealing from outside but was inside exceeded our expectations! The food was lovely, service was great and the tranquility garden at the back, offered a peaceful and quiet stroll after lunch.
Very nice Good food and friendly service . It’s busy so try and book in advance to make sure you get in.
We arrived for breakfast at a time of a power cut. The staff were friendly and provided a good cooked breakfast despite this difficulty.
Quinton's attention and waitron service was very refreshing. Not overly heavy menu and a separate vegan menu available. Prices mid range and options of street side seating or back garden , quieter and view towards Temenos garden. Cards accepted
Popped in for brunch not knowing the breakfast time is till 11am. Arrived at 10:55....and the kind waitress still took our breakfast order. Sat on the stoep in the front garden area. Sufficient breakfast plate with toast etc on the side. The wine menu(especially CheninBlanc)...has too few local options. Lovely owners/staff. Shall return.More
We had lunch at Tebaldis Restaurant while exploring the Bonnievale/Robertson/McGregor area. We received a warm welcome and good service even though the restaurant seemed busy. The food was well prepared and served promptly, the staff were accommodating. It was a beautiful winter's day and we...enjoyed the pretty outdoor setting. We would make a point of returning for a meal when in that vicinity again. Attractive decor and inviting atmosphere.More
