Rather than just being turned away after walking in the fully booked local italian, the patron made a call to Manor House and secured us a couple of extra seats there. OK, thanks! 15 minutes later we were gazing at the beautifull surroudings after being warmly welcomed.
The following carpaccio starter was the best carpaccio ever (i'm not joking), while the kids were blazing over the gourmet hamburgers. Overall beautifull, warm, welcoming, seriously good food... highly recommended.
(PS we do not write great reviews all the time, but the Manor House deserves it)

We stayed here on the recommendation of a friend and it didn’t disappoint. It was just what we needed after months of lock down. The location is exquisite and the cottage very trendy and homely at the same time. The owners are very attentive without being intrusive, and the food was 10/10. Really loved our stay and will definitely be returning!

We booked a table for two to celebrate our anniversary and had the most amazing experience. Although we were alone at first, we were made to feel special and as if we had booked out the restaurant for ourselves! Our hosts were most attentive and their service was impeccable. My husband selected the Pork Belly which was scrumptious and I ordered the Cob (Kabeljou) which was in a delightful Saffron sauce and was served with West Coast Mussels. The wine was excellent and Alex our waiter was very accomplished. When we confessed that it was a special celebration, we were offered a complimentary dessert, but alas, the mains were too good and we had both had an elegant sufficiency!

One of our favorites in the area. A holiday is not the same without a vist to the delightful Manor House. From the front of house greeting by Sarah to Alec and the delightful owner Elsabé, you are made to feel so special and welcome.
This is followed by the most scrumptious meals that Janine prepares. The culinary experience is enhanced by the best views in the area.
All tastes are catered for from vegans / vegetarians to the most ardent meat eaters.

For a Saturday lunch, we visited the The Manor House Restaurant at Stanford valley. What a wonderful experience. The views are magnificent (See photo below). The maitre’d was attentive and visited us several times during the meal. Our waiter (it was his first day on the job we later discovered) was fantastic. I had the deep fried Camembert starter. My wife had the lamb ribbetjies. Both were excellent (lamb so soft). For mains I had the fillet steak. It was perfectly cooked and came with flavourful accompaniments. My wife had the pork neck with cracking. Excellent. The phyllo pastry with milk tart ice cream is definitely the best choice. Excellent wine list. This place cannot be missed.

Our guest house recommended this restaurant to us and we were so grateful. It is set on a hill with a lovely view with a sensational sunset. The manager from the UK was brilliant and so friendly. The food was to die for with a lovely recommended local Sauvignon Blanc that was really good all at extraordinary value for money.
I cannot rate this place highly enough.

Lovely restaurant in a gorgeous setting. Loved the art filled walls of the restaurant. We enjoyed a very delicious dinner here with the stand out dishes being the fillet steak & the rack of lamb. Absolutely fabulous. The service was excellent. The reason we didn’t score full marks was due to the fact that the estate was hosting a mountain biking event.....the bikers had their tents pitched on the lawns (spoilt the views) and there were families coming in and out all evening with bare foot children running around the restaurant. It just seems a bit wrong for such a delightful venue. We felt there should something of a dress code....

Dear Julie - glad to hear that you enjoyed your dinner as well as the art, and that the service was excellent. Our sincere apologies though that the hosting of the annual MTB event wasn't mentioned at the time of your booking (as it should have been in order to give you the option to still join us that day or opt for another) as it does indeed result once-a-year in a different ambience... Do hope you'll visit us again in order to experience the full picture, and heads-up: 2021 the event going to be Saturday 27Feb.! :-) warmest regards, Elsabe

A lovely setting with great decor and artworks.
Delicious starter of trout, well balanced smokiness and pickle produced a great dish.
Had the pork belly as a main which was very well prepared but did lack a little flavour.
Wine list was good and service as well.
A very pleasant experience.

Disappointed. Standard does not warrant price. Waiter too often tried to fill wine glasses in order to bring another bottle. Peas looked shriveled and dry. Compared to other restaurants charging these prices it falls far short.

Elsabe, Alex and the team received us with open arms.
The starters were very nice and although the lobster bisque was a bit intense the vetkoek (beignet) was unbelievable. The white bait was amazing.
Main course steamed vegetables were done to perfection. My pork belly was done exactely the way I ordered it. Our other guests whom ordered the fresh fish and oxtail enjoyed the dishes but felt the portions were too large (less is more.)
The guests tasted and shared all the deserts on offer and they were all outstanding - the Mandarin cake was exceptional.
A white table cloth would have lifted our experiende to 6*!
A visit to Manor House is a must and we loved our visit. A wonderful family experience and views.
The travelling time from Hermanus with the new road is a breaze.

This is fine dining, if you want fish & chips or fried chicken wings there are plenty of options in the area, but if you want amazing food with adventurous (but not odd) taste this should be your go to. We had filet and vegetables skewered on sticks of rosemary, unexpected and delicious. Nothing here disappointed and the service was impeccable! The owner and the chef both visited our table and there was a genuine concern about how much we enjoyed our meal. We plan to make this a staple for our visits to Hermanus.

Unusual dishes with amazing combinations you wouldn’t think about. Like cauliflower florets in a babotie sauce with the custard at the bottom. Bone marrows with gunieafowl potbrood.
Then for mains we had tender fillet with samp and spek, pork neck with spinach and lamb shank slow roasted to perfection.
And for dessert I had the dark chocolate truffle and some brownie ice cream for the kids.
An amazing meal. Great service. Stunning views and a house filled with art to complete all your senses being taken care of.

Our 3rd visit in 2 years to this wonderful restaurant. The dining room and views are beautiful and the service is delightfully delivered with gentle humour and a smile.
The menu is relatively small, but the dishes have excellent balance - with fresh and distinctive flavours, varied textures, attractive presentation and sensible portions. Across 2 recent visits we tried the squid starter and the beef, lamb, pork and fish mains - they were each delicious and we would happily order any of them again. The locally-focussed wine list is perfect for visitors like us and value for money is excellent.
Very highly recommended.

What a pleasure to dine at this wonderful restaurant.
The interior design is perfectly welcoming, inspired by well chosen art works, with expansive views of mountains and rolling country lawns. All staff are highly efficient and communicate sensitively with customers. The menu is versatile and interesting, food absolutely delicious .

March 2021 ; Ambiance exceeded by warm welcome. Menu does not do justice to actual Foo, which was different and exceptional in presentation as well as in flovour
(Kabeljou, Burger, Meat and Egg plant dish) How uplifting to find vegeterian dishes that are more than BUTTERNUT AND SPINACH.
Allowing own wine was a bonus.
A must visit - even when not in the area
