I was so excited to stay at the Post House and only heard good reviews about the hotel. I was quite disappointed, the staff were lovely and sweet but we had to ask for milk, which they said was in the mini bar which it...wasn’t. The room was a little faulty- the kettle wasn’t working properly, the WiFi wasn’t great and the water pressure was very weak. The “pub” was great and the coffee the next morning was lovely. I sadly wouldn’t stay here again.More
Spent the weekend at the posthouse in Greyton! Was an exceptionoal cold, freezing weekend . Our hosts were amazing with warmth in the rooms to amazing hot chocolates and coffees. The Pub is cosy and the staff were Excellent. Advice of hiking was valuable. Will definitely...be back to enjoy a summer at your beautiful place .More
Wish I could have stayed longer, also to have spent more time in the beautiful town of Greyton. With a beautiful backdrop of the mountains, the artisans, the vibe of an appreciation of the suurounds, the community... I wish it could have been more than...a stopover, but alas. The hotel was stunning, the room superb, the staff superb, the breakfast superb - to wrap up it was all SUPERB and can only HIGHLY recommend itMore
The Post House was completely renovated in 2018 by the new owners. They have done an excellent job of combining the old historical roots of this hotel with modern arty themes characteristic of Greyton today. The pub is enjoyed by locals and visitors alike with...a special musical treat on Friday evenings. The food in the restaurant is very good and several vegetarian options are offered. The chef made a vegetarian special on Saturday evening when he found out that we are vegetarians. The breakfast is excellent. All the staff are genuinely friendly and that just made our stay so special. Located in the centre of the little town, the Post House is close to the Saturday Market, artisan shops, galleries and antique shops. The Nature Reserve is within walking distance, the entrance being at the end of the town. Greyton is only 1 to 2 hours from the Cape Town area, depending on where you are, so the Post House is ideal for spending a few days out of the city.More
The hotel has recently been done up and our room was lovely. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and the bar and coffee shop are good features. Our breakfast was excellent. Only drawback was we stayed on a Sunday and had to eat out...in a dodgy restaurant. Next time we will stay either during the week or Sat.More
I had the highest hopes for a lunch here after just the pictures I saw on TripAdvisor but it was not good at all. I think everything was fried in older oil because even the fries was brownish and pooled oil on my plate dark....I was starving as we do intermittent fasting so I ate most of it but I unpicked little bits of food out of horrible batter. The coffee we had was of the best I must say.More
Sadly this Restaurant is now closed - we stayed at The Post House Bed and Breakfast over the June 2017 long weekend and the staff informed us that the Owners have closed the Restaurant.
We didn't eat. We had drinks on the outside balcony. It was really lovely. Red wine was good. Service was friendly and efficient. A great afternoon relaxing on the balcony.More

We stayed at the Post House and decided to have dinner there as the dining room was very inviting and the menu was ideal for all 4 of us. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection; our waitress was a gem and was excellent...too. The ambiance of the dining room was perfect too - good space between tables, nicely laid-up, interesting decor (not sure what the projected Charlie Chaplin silent movie onto one of the walls was all about though!). We had a wonderful dinner and highly recommend it!More
