We came in on day 2, when Eva, the new chef and owner, had just taken over the kitchen. The menu now is mainly Italian. Excellent fresh pasta, gorgeous chicken al limone.

An outstanding dish two nights in a row. Really excellent and friendly staff . A wonderfully experience all over
Great service and food in a charming restaurant. Fresh fish and pork Belly was perfectly cooked and delicious. Very reasonably priced.
Rate 4 The food was delicious and more for Top end prices. Not for a family with young children. More for groups or a romantic lunch or dinner.
Excellent experience! As a vegetarian, food options can be limited in small towns, but Abbey Rose did not disappoint! Had the lentil moussaka & enjoyed it so much that we went back the following evening! The Malay veg curry was amazing as well. Would definitely...recommend to anyone looking for a hearty meal & great vibe.More
The MOST delicious RIBS! Worth driving from Cape Town for these ribs! Love the ambiance and the friendly staff! No wonder they’ve been number 1 on Trip Advisor for the last 10 years! You can’t come to Greyton without eating these ribs :)
This is the consistently best restaurant in Greyton by far, Staff and owners are always friendly and efficient, the atmosphere is welcoming and cosy and the food is always amazing with a wide choice available.
We arrived during loadshedding. We were told only certain items were available which was understandable. We ordered drinks a beer that came with a beer glass and a ginger ale which the waitress poured into the red wine glass (no ice offered). Mains we ordered...the pork belly and the sirloin steak (Medium). The pork belly R190 was tasty and the mash was good. The cracking was crispy on the top and chewy underneath and wasn't hot. The Steak R185 was on the Rare side of medium rare. It had a section of fat on the one side and gristle on the other. The potatoe wedges seem to have been made earlier and warmed up. The vegetables provide with both meals were underdone almost raw.More
The peri-peri prawns were absolutely divine and the sauce was so good I ordered bread so I could enjoy every last bit. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was good and the manager Johann was absolutely fabulous.
Went for dinner in a party of four. Food quality poor. Worst snails I’ve ever had - think bland cream sauce and served with cheap bread. Peri peri prawns better flavour but small in size and quantity for price. My cousin had Cape Malay curry,...which was not authentic or good. Partner had stuffed chicken, which was “massively underwhelming”. The best dish were the spare ribs, well cooked with tasty basting.More
We had an exceptional meal of pork belly and lamb shanks followed by chocolate lava pudding. Service was so friendly and the food was perfect! We spontaneously joined a music show in the quaint theatre in the back garden as well. It was a lovely...evening and will definitely be back for the pork belly.More
Staff is friendly and attentive. Good honest food. Restaurant was understaffed due to COVID and the owner had the wisdom to not overfill the restaurant.
Came highly recommended. Don’t know why. Feels like an out of date 70s grill house. Faded & cluttered decor. Steak smothered in ‘Spur’ type baste to cover lack of flavour. Not worth my Rands
We loved our anniversary dinner and cabaret. I had the best lamb shank ever. The lamb shank was served with mash and veggies. The meat fell of the bone. Will be back next year.
Admittedly we arived at 20:00 however, 2 x Items on the limited menu not available Over priced, tasteless steaks. R80 for a Castle Light Draft. What more needs to be said. Wont be back
