We visited because the billboard ouside said Tripadvisor no 1. Releatively small - but the owner greeted is just after opening. Basic menu ...but caters for all tastes. But great food .... service and atmosphere...what you came to Greyton for...
The food is very good, great variety, delicate in taste but for our taste it was often too salty, much too salty, good choice of wines, fast and efficient service, pleasant host, special atmosphere both inside and on terrace, romantic there!
I thoroughly enjoyed my spontaneous lunch at Abbey Rose. While I did only have a chicken schnitzel, it was tender and tasty and everything you want from a simple meal. Personally, I was able to gauge that the standard and quality of food preparation and...was high. Wonderful, hospitable staff that make you feel very welcome.
Abbey Rose certainly measures up to the hype and I’d love to come back.More
Our party of five adults had lunch here while on a day trip to Greyton from Cape Town. The food was to die for! I settled for the beef beer pie which was a very generous meaty dish prepared to perfection. Others in the party...opted for the chicken pie, which Abby Rose is famed for, Fish and chips and Indian lamb and bean curry. Everyone, without exception, enjoyed their meal to the full. The atmosphere, service and ambiance is truly great. I'm so looking forward to visiting Greyton again and will definitely enjoy a meal at Abby Rose!More
What a delightful restaurant. The roasted lamb was the best I have ever tasted, vegetables perfectly cooked , great lamb curry and to round off a delicious chocolate fondant. Great service , I would recommend this restaurant without any hesitation
We sa outsider there was nothing for the control of mosquitoes,
the owner prides himself in walking from table to table telling ll the guests how his place is for sale , well he told us the same thing 3 years ago when we were...there .
My husband had the duck pie and it was frozen and warmed up in the oven
i had the fillet asked for medium rare, it tasted boiled and it was old.
terrible food will never go back, totally over rated and run downMore
