We visited Abbey Rose last Friday and had to book as per normal. Being a hot day we sat outside as per normal. Anyway I had spare ribs which was really great. Must say the best in the town so far. My wife’s steak on...the other hand was really tough and really difficult to eat. Besides mixing up my veg with my wife’s salad the rest was good. We did tell the waiter however nothing was done about it. So besides the menu being limited and pricey I can recommend the ribs which comes with great chips, but the steak should be given a miss.More

The restaurant has a very stiff atmosphere with some interesting “rules” like - no shoes - no service. A high fee for sharing meals. The food is big portions that we could not finish. Both my wife and I ordered the lamb shank. It lacked...flavour. They customised a dish for our daughter that was very good.More

This notice on our table would have made me walk out immediately if not for the fact that we were in a group, all of whom were hungry. Food was excellent. Service friendly. What does this notice say about the customer care ethos of the...management? Not everyone is a big eater, especially elderly people. One of our party has had stomach surgery, another eats like a bird. This is unacceptable. Won't be back.More

Just visited the Abbey Rose and what a fabulous place hidden away in Greyton. Several of the dishes were sold out but after tasting what we all did have I can completely understand. Everything is home made generous portions and we cleared our plates The...staff and owners were charming and you have to wander around to appreciate the charm and humour or the place a true hidden gem.More

Excellent food and friendly service. Having had the lamb shank a few years ago I went for that again and it did not disappoint. Delicious and a generous portion. We started off with the deep fried camembert which was also really good. The pork belly...was served with two large pieces of crackling which caused much joy. 😊More

Abbey Rose is a must-visit! If you don't, you will surely miss out on an amazing dining experience. On top of the list is the Lamb Shank, followed by the Springbok pie! Thanks for an amazing dinner!! Will definitely visit again.

I’ve been to Greyton a few times but never been to Abbey Rose, wish I’d come sooner. Great atmosphere. Super service. Nice, simple menu with a well put together wine list. A definite yes from us to any visitor to Greyton.

I'm afraid I can't answer you on this one. He was really very affable with us when we frequented his restaurant. maybe you caught him on an off day, which is no excuse to react as he did>
