We stopped last mn to get a quick bite on our way to Pornic and we had a delicious fresh sea food experience instead, with oysters and mussels. Menu also includes veal beef and lamb and by the look of the dishes on the table...next to us, it seems very nice as well. Very kind and welcoming team
They kindly recommended hotels in Pornic and we just arrived there: lovely !
We went there because we were staying at the nearby hotel - and it had quite a good rate. Indeed - very fancy restaurant. We ordered beers as appetizers and got them served not only peanut, but with fish terrine on toasts! Then as for...food - really delicious! We did a 100% fish experience and it was very nice!
Only problem (which wasn't one for us but can be if you're on a hurry) is that service is really slow - giving us time, though, for digestion :-)
It's quite pricey if you take dishes out of menus... But it's worth it! Eels were absolutely delicious - and I was very happy it didn't come with the usual potatoes or rice... But instead with vegetables. Thanks a lot!More
lovely to sit down to eat after the auberge we were planning to visit turned out to be shut for renovations. However I am so glad we came back to this restaurant. Helpful, lovely food, comfortable, not too noisy and even though it was late...for lunch, they were very obliging. perfect last meal before returning to the UK.More
We stopped to have a lunch break and believe me we were not disappointed the choice of dishes is great and the ambiance is really relaxing. Service was perfect and we enjoyed the freshness of the food.
The wine per glass is a bit shy......meaning...not so generous in volume 😅but it you drive after we cannot blame themMore

Thank you for your nice comment. We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. We would be delighted to welcome you again in our restaurant.
Yes, we think about your safety first;)
See you soon.
We stayed in the nearby Hotel Nuit de Retz. A very short walk to the Restaurant Auberge. Quite a large room but lacking just a little in character. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I had the whole crab starter (see photo) which was very...well presented and was fresh and flavoursome. The restaurant did not supply the cutlery pick normally supplied with crab or lobster, which was not such a good decision, and I was left only with the cracker and a knife to do the business. My partner had a foie gras de canard which was good. For mains, I had a ribs dish which was tasty. My partner had a brochette which was pleasant too.
My partner's desert was very large (if a little over sweet).
The service seemed to drop off a little when it came to trying to get the bill. The staff seemed distracted by what was going on in the adjoining bar.
However, all in all not a bad experience, and better than we expected.
Not unreasonable value.More
