Good food but sadly still very slow service – usually busy on a Sunday this visit there were more staff than customers – and still a poached egg on readymade ingredients took 25 minutes and the eggs were not as ordered – as I have said quality food but a frustrating experience - lack of management was obvious

I absolutely love lunches at the Woolworths café! Not only have they perfected the art of avocado on toast, but they've also included my favourite superfood in their green smoothies - meaning I get to eat and drink avocados simultaneously!
While avo on toast is a cult-favourite, I quite enjoy the zesty twist that Woolworths have put on this classic meal:
Crispy kale, crumbled feta and dukkah spice add an extra special element to the dish. The crunchiness of the kale is perfectly balanced by the creaminess of the feta!
If you're wondering what Dukkah spice entails, I've created a short summary below:
.
• Dukkah Spice is a traditional Egyptian blend of herbs, nuts and spices
• It is often mixed into classic dips such as hummus and tzatziki before being eaten with bread or crackers
• The essential spices in a Dukkah Mix include toasted hazelnuts, sesame seeds, coriander seeds, cumin, pistachios, fennel seeds and salt and pepper to taste
While Woolies offers an extensive selection of delicious meals - from creamy soups and cheesy toasties to a diverse and unique harvest table - their classic avo on toast has become my go-to meal of choice recently! The creamy dreamy mushrooms on Ciabatta soldiers comes in at a close second, but my love for avo triumphs above all
Be sure to try it out the next time you visit the Woolworths café at Gateway or La Lucia Mall!

I have eaten here several times and have as yet to experience good service – ok they say the food is freshly prepared but by the time my breakfast arrived my tea even though it was in a pot was cold – the food however was nice with lots of healthy choices – the self service Harvest table with a selection ‘market dishes', salads, and hot vegetables sold by weight looked promising and might be a quicker and less frustrating option.

In a country where standards are quite low I was taken aback by the shocking service here.
Our order was taken by the manager himself and that was the last we saw or heard of him or our food. One waiter who we tried to get info from after about 40 minutes didn't even stop to hear the question, and after a further 15 minutes we got up and left.
We have to assume our order wasnt put into the system as tables seated after us, with more complex orders, were finished eating by the time we left- still unfed !
Mistakes happen, we all understand that, but thereafter there should be a better feedback than " it's coming " that told us precisely nothing after such a long wait.
We left and within 15 minutes had our breakfast in front of us at a nearby eatery.
Their menu choices aren't that great that I would risk going back for that level of service to be repeated, the place we ended up at had excellent vegan offerings if required.
It only earned a star because my cappuchino wasn't bad.

We was so disappointed 😞. Coz we wanted a place to sit down and chat 😢 . The noise level among the staff of the kitchen and waiters/waitresses was unreal. All screaming over each other. Staff talking over the food without a mask when talking.
Food took so long 😩
They must learn some kitchen ethics.

Great food and service. Specially love their fresh scones or the chicken parmigiana. The only complaint is that they often run out of stuff and because they’re privately owned won’t just go across to the Woolworths next door and source whatever is missing.

Situated out of the way situated in a corner at the back of the store this restaurant still attracts a lot of custom and is always busy when we go there – nice mix of mostly healthy and some not so healthy choices – good for brunch or a substantial snack whilst shopping – prices average – service friendly but very slow -

The food is beautifully presented. Made fresh. Delicious. It's open, clean, and light. Really good value for money. The staff are however a little slow. But great place for business meetings with free wifi. Worth a try.

We walked in with staff members chatting amongst themselves instead of attending to us. We had been waiting for our meal for almost an hour and no one had come to apologize. People who came after us had been getting there meals before us. Which was unacceptable. That was a very disappointing visit

We had the most delicious cake here. Pumpkin and Tumeric. We wanted something different but weren't sure wether to try it so took a chance. It was really delicious. Three of us shared a piece as they are very big. The cappuccinos were great too - we each had our own :)

You can always be sure of a good meal here - ingredients are fresh and billed as organic - good for breakfast, mid morning coffee and snacks and lunches - I had the cheese and corn waffle with avo and maple bacon - so tasty I have made it several times at home since - the kitchen service was slower than usual and longer than it would reasonably take to prepare what we ate - prices are reasonable and the servers were pleasant in explaining many times for the delay - the manager was conspicuous by his absence - great place for halftime when shopping in the Mall

Huge fan of Woolies Cafe, but sat down looking forward to some cake and coffee - No almond milk, no lactose free milk, no tumeric coffee options, no soya milk, no options for anyone with a lactose allergy when the food market is right next door?
Very disappointing.

I always love shopping at the Woolworths store. What I do live best, is the great snack spot they have tucked away inside the store.
The Woolworths cafe is definitely a great place to take a break from shopping and get a snack or a light meal. Their food is always well prepared and well served. I love their coffee with snacks like scones or muffins. It's wonderful to take some time out and just rest with a cup of coffee and/or a snack.
The staff is lovely, very helpful, polite and welcoming. The meals are usually served on time and are generally quite affordable.
